Updating an earlier report, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo's salary cap number for 2015 is $27.7 million. This means he'll likely have to restructure his contract every year.

The Dallas Cowboys restructured QB Tony Romo's contract to free up $10 million in salary cap space. The move will convert $12.5 million of Romo's $13.5 million base salary into a signing bonus, dropping his salary-cap figure from $21.773 million to $11.773 million. The team is now less than $1 million over the cap.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said offensive coordinator Scott Linehan will be the brains behind the offense this year, assistant Bill Callahan will be in a running-game role and head coach Jason Garrett will be out of the offensive mix completely. Jones also said QB Tony Romo will be "more involved" in the offense than he was last year.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) is expected to be ready to participate in full when the Cowboys offseason program begins April 21. "All I can go off of is what the doctors and trainers tell me, which is they think he'll make a full recovery and be fine," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Wednesday. "He's obviously on a timeline, but there's no concern on his timeline this year missing anything like he did last year."

Romo had experienced relief after the surgery and is expected to be on target to be ready for offseason team activities in the spring. He's currently participating in core and stabilization drills.
