Packers | No timetable on Aaron Rodgers

Tue, 05 Nov 2013 12:41:57 -0800

Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) confirmed that he suffered a fractured left collarbone in Week 9, but insisted that there is no timetable for his return. Rodgers did acknowledge that "it's a significant injury." He said the pain was "considerably more" than he's felt in a while. Rodgers is still going through the testing process. QB Seneca Wallace will handle the first-team repetitions in practice this week and enter Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles as the starting quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: The early indications are that Rodgers might miss around three weeks. The good news is that he won't need surgery and the injury is to his non-throwing side. Be patient. Wallace should be ignored in all formats.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers injury confirmed

Tue, 05 Nov 2013 11:06:17 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers' (collarbone) injury has been confirmed as a broken collarbone. The timetable for return is that "it's going to be a little while."

Fantasy Tip: Obviously, if you are a Rodgers owner, this is not great news. At least for now, it appears Seneca Wallace will be the guy moving forward, but that is an extreme drop off from Rodgers. If the Packers were to bring another QB in at this point, he would be worth an add.

Sun, 09 Jun 2013 17:13:32 -0700

The New Orleans Saints have QBs Ryan W. Griffin, Luke McCown and Seneca Wallace in camp, each vying for the primary backup job behind starting QB Drew Brees.

Fantasy Tip: It is likely McCown and Wallace win the job due to their veteran status, with Griffin spending time on the practice squad. However, unless disaster strikes and Brees does down with a long-term injury, none of the trio will have much in the way of fantasy appeal.

Wed, 09 May 2012 05:59:02 -0700

"We drafted a young quarterback that we think can come in and play right away, but we're not just going to hand him the football," Holmgren said. "I still love Colt McCoy (but) we had a chance to get a mature quarterback who has a chance to come in and contribute right away. Whether that happens or not we have to let it play out."

This is a first-rounder that we drafted, 22nd overall, and from a business standpoint, you know and everybody else knows and outsiders know that this kid's got to play. My job as a veteran guy is to make sure he's ready to play."
