Rangers | Prince Fielder keeps hitting

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 16:21:02 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder recorded his fifth straight multi-hit game going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a walk in a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday, June 28.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has his average up to .351, and he leads the majors with 33 multi-hit efforts. With just 12 home runs, Fielder isn't displaying his typical power, but he is enjoying his most consistent season. He is one of the safer high-priced options at FantasyScore, but there are players available in the same price range with higher ceilings.

Rangers | Prince Fielder hits homer No. 300

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 21:20:26 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder hit his 300th career home run in a 12-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, June 26, and he and his father, Cecil Fielder, joined Bobby Bonds and Barry Bonds as the only father-son duos to reach 300 home runs each.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has hit just 12 homers on the year, but his 48 RBI and .346 average put him in the top five in the AL in both categories. If you have the money to spare, Fielder offers a solid combination of upside and safety at FantasyScore.

Rangers | Prince Fielder likes home cooking

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 09:50:35 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder is hitting .353 at home this year, which is the fifth highest average in the American League.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has been hitting everywhere this year, but taking his hacks in a hitter-friendly home environment doesn't hurt. He's a fine FantasyScore addition to your lineups against Oakland Athletics starter Jesse Chavez tonight.

Rangers | Prince Fielder remains out

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 16:29:16 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder will remain out of the starting lineup Thursday, June 18, against the Los Angeles Dodgers and RHP Zack Greinke. It wasn't surprising to see Fielder sit against LHP Clayton Kershaw Wednesday, but Fielder is out for the second straight day after doing a face plant while rounding third base Tuesday. 1B Mitch Moreland will start at first base and hit fourth in the order Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Moreland ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has 16 hits during an 11-game hit streak, entering Thursday's contest. He's been able to crush righties for a .331 batting average this season, and Moreland is a near must-start on FantasyScore, regardless of the difficult matchup.

Rangers | Prince Fielder sitting vs. Dodgers

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 15:50:26 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 17. 1B Kyle Blanks is batting fourth and playing first base against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) is likely receiving a night off with a dominant lefty on the hill. Blanks ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has tremendous power upside, but against Kershaw, he should be viewed as nothing more than flier for FantasyScore contests Wednesday.

Rangers | Prince Fielder shaky against Kazmir

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 10:06:55 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder is hitting .143 (2-for-14) with one home run in his career against Oakland Athletics SP Scott Kazmir. Fielder faces Kazmir Thursday, June 11.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is having an excellent bounce-back season in 2015, and he's hitting both lefties and righties well, including four home runs, 13 RBI and an .842 OPS against southpaws. We won't ever tell you that Fielder should be avoided on FantasyScore while he's going well, but you may want to temper your expectations a bit today.

Rangers | Prince Fielder a hitting machine

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 18:01:05 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two walks in a 4-2 win over the Kansas City Royals Saturday, June 6, and he leads the American League with a .356 average and 79 hits and leads the majors with 26 multi-hit games.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has become one of the steadiest bats available this season, and with Kansas City's Jeremy Guthrie bringing a 6.17 ERA into Sunday's start, Fielder could be worth paying up for at FantasyScore.

Rangers | Prince Fielder out of lineup

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 13:42:11 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder is not in the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher Wednesday, June 3. 3B Joey Gallo is serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth, while SS Elvis Andrus moves up to the third spot.

Fantasy Tip: Gallo ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has impressive raw power for a youngster, as evidenced by his first major league homer in his first start last night. However, he's a big risk tonight against a dominant southpaw. Andrus ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) also shouldn't draw much confidence from daily gamers while facing Sale tonight.

Rangers | Prince Fielder becoming leader

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 10:18:49 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder, who leads the American League with a .359 average and is fifth with a .975 OPS, has showed more leadership with Texas this year, and he's serving as a mentor to OF Delino DeShields Jr. and RP Keone Kela, according to team officials.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) was scorching hot in May (.377-9-28) and has proven that his injury last year is behind him. He should continue to be a very strong FantasyScore option this season.

Rangers | Prince Fielder beating the shift

Thu, 28 May 2015 13:31:11 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder, who has 10 home runs, 12 doubles and 38 RBI this year, has done a much better job of going the other way with pitches to beat the shift against him. All of his home runs have been pulled, but 28.2% of his batted balls have gone the opposite way, which is more than 3% from his last full season in 2013. He's also excelling against pitches on the outer third part of the plate, hitting .351 with a .505 slugging percentage and a 20.7 miss percentage compared to a .251 average, .361 slugging percentage and 26.3 miss percentage in 2013.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has responded nicely after a lost season in 2014, and he's been a steal for those that drafted him this year. The addition of Josh Hamilton to the Texas lineup should give Fielder even more protection, and he should continue to be a strong FantasyScore play.
