Red Sox | Renewed life for John Lackey?

Tue, 08 Apr 2014 08:44:09 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP John Lackey touched 95 mph with his fastball in his second win of the season against the Texas Rangers Monday, April 7, and more than one scout said he's looking like the pitcher that made at least 32 starts in five straight years with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Lackey had his fastball working with precision Monday, throwing 17 of 27 first-pitch strikes, and his offspeed pitches were also on point.

Fantasy Tip: Now that Lackey is perhaps in the best shape of his life and is firmly removed from TJS, he's showing the best skills he's had in years. Pinpoint control and command is the key, and if he continues to pitch like he did last night, this could be another breakout year for him.
