The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hired Dave Kennedy as head strength and conditioning coach, Larry Marmie as senior defensive assistant, Ben Steele as offensive quality control and Matt Wiegand as assistant offensive line coach.

Seahawks | Marmie joins Seattle staff

Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks also have added Larry Marmie to their defensive staff. Marmie, a former coordinator with St. Louis and Arizona, has joined Teryl Austin in coaching defensive backs.

Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks are expected to add former St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Larry Marmie to their coaching staff soon. The Seahawks interviewed Marmie this week. Marmie presumably would help out with the secondary.

Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Larry Marmie is a strong candidate to claim the Green Bay Packers secondary coaching job, according to an NFL source.

AZCardinals.com reports that in the coming months before the first mini-camp in May, defensive coordinator Larry Marmie and his staff will spent a great deal of time evaluating the different packages and formations used during the past season on defense. The staff will be working to see what went right and what went wrong so an adjusted notebook can be put together. Marmie feels like a lot has been accomplished, but there is still a lot of hard work ahead with this young defensive unit.

Rams | Defensive Coordinator Search Continues

As an update to an ongoing storyline, the Post Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams coach Mike Martz continued his search for a defensive coordinator Thursday, meeting with Tampa Bay LB coach Lovie Smith at Rams Park. The team was turned down by Jacksonville when they requested permission to interview Dom Capers. Previously, the Rams were turned down by Buffalo, to interview Ted Cottrell, and by Arizona, to interview Larry Marmie. The Rams have sought permission to interview Washington defensive coordinator Ray Rhodes but have yet to hear back from the Redskins.
