Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 17. 2B Emilio Bonifacio will serve as the designated hitter for the White Sox.
Fantasy Tip: LaRoche ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) probably is not playing since the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Bonifacio ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has not received a lot of playing time this season and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu "is our first baseman," according to manager Robin Ventura. That means 1B Adam LaRoche will remain as the designated hitter and backup first baseman.
Fantasy Tip: Abreu ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has gotten off to a bit of a slow start .267 (23-for-86) despite hitting five home runs and driving in 15 relative to his breakout 2014 season. The White Sox as a team have been slumping lately, and there's no reason to believe Abreu won't pick it up eventually. He actually makes for a nice value play against Detroit Tigers starter Shane Greene tonight.

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche (illness) was removed in the fifth inning against the Minnesota Twins Sunday, May 3. He was 1-fo-2 with a walk and a run scored before being replaced.
Fantasy Tip: An illness has been working its way through the White Sox, and it seems like LaRoche ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is the latest victim. Check on his status over the next couple of days before considering him at FantasyScore, but since the notoriously slow starter is hitting just .211, he isn't a great option even if he is 100%.

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche went hitless in four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts in his team debut Monday, April 6, against the Kansas City Royals.
Fantasy Tip: LaRoche is going to hit and be a solid source of power for FantasyScore ($4,900; 9.8% of cap) owners, but it might take him a brief period to make the transition going from years in the National League to the American League.

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu will likely slide over to designated hitter or rest a couple of times a week with 1B Adam LaRoche in tow. General manager Rick Hahn said Abreu's foot and ankle issues that hobbled him in May could have affected him the rest of the season. Abreu is preparing to play the full 162-game season after wearing down the last two months, but LaRoche's presence could facilitate weekly DH or rest days to keep Abreu fresh.
