The Los Angeles Dodgers will be cautious with OF Carl Crawford (quadriceps) while he's dealing with a strained right quadriceps. "We don't feel like this is anything that's going to linger, but it is part of the process with Carl," manager Don Mattingly said. "With only X amount of games, we know we've got to kind of be careful."
Fantasy Tip: The Dodgers and fantasy owners know that Crawford is fragile. This shouldn't be anything to worry about if the team manages it correctly. They have every reason to because of the uncertainty with Matt Kemp (ankle).

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly admitted that he will consider using OF Yasiel Puig in the leadoff spot this season. Such a move would provide better right-lefty balance in the lineup and move OF Carl Crawford further down. Crawford would bat second, SS Hanley Ramirez third and 1B Adrian Gonzalez fourth. Puig had a .391 on-base percentage last year, which was second on the team. Puig was in the leadoff spot for 28 games last year and had a slash line of .333/.409/.618 with eight of his 19 home runs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers may trade one of its outfielders to find extra help shoring up other key areas. Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti confirms he has had interest in all four of his outfielders (Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford). "We've got four really good outfielders and we've got to be careful. We can't sell off to sell off and in 2015 say, 'Let's go get an outfielder on the free-agent market," Colletti said. "We've checked the list. It's not overloaded with choices. There's a lack of impact outfielders available. We better be sure if we make a move that we help our club for a while."

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a glut of outfielders, and according to rival officials, they are more eager to move OFs Carl Crawford or Andre Ethier than OF Matt Kemp (ankle), who is coming off ankle surgery. Kemp is owed $128 million over the next six years, Crawford $81.5 million over the next four, and Ethier $69 million over the next four. "None of those contracts can be moved without (the Dodgers) taking on salary," one rival executive said.
