Mets | Lucas Duda out Monday

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 16:01:17 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is not in the starting lineup Monday, July 6. OF Michael Cuddyer is starting at first base and hitting fifth against San Francisco Giants SP Chris Heston. Also, OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis is starting in left field and hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Duda ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) should be avoided everywhere while in the midst of a bad slump at the plate. Cuddyer ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has only two hits in his last 36 at-bats (.056) and isn't a strong FantasyScore value play. Avoid Nieuwenhuis ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) everywhere.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer playing Sunday

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 12:36:04 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer (knee) is in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger Sunday, July 5, batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Cuddyer ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is making his first start since Tuesday, June 30, although he made appearances as a pinch hitter in each of the last two games. FantasyScore owners should avoid using him today so that he can prove that he is completely healthy.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer still out

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 16:05:26 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer (knee) feels "a little bit better" and may be available to pinch hit Friday, July 3, according to manager Terry Collins. Collins added Cuddyer will take batting practice to see how he feels.

Fantasy Tip: John Mayberry Jr. ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) draws into the lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw in Cuddyer's ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) absence. Mayberry isn't worth the risk facing Kershaw at FantasyScore Friday, though. Continue to check back for updates on Cuddyer's progress.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer could land on DL

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 09:42:06 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer (knee) could still land on the disabled list if he sits out beyond three days, according to manager Terry Collins. Cuddyer missed his second straight game Thursday, July 2, after receiving an injection and undergoing an MRI exam.

Fantasy Tip: Cuddyer ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) hit .211 (19-for-90) with a home run and six RBI in June to drop his average to .243 on the season. You can drop him in shallow leagues now if you were hanging on. John Mayberry Jr., Darrell Ceciliani and Eric Campbell can all fill in in left field if Cuddyer lands on the DL, but none of those options have much fantasy appeal in traditional or daily games.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer leaves game

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 18:09:31 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer (knee) left the game Tuesday, June 30, against the Chicago Cubs due to a sore left knee.

Fantasy Tip: With Cuddyer out, Darrell Cecillani ($1,600; or 3.2% of cap) took over in the outfield. Perhaps he gets a start and is a low-end FantasyScore salary saver in the next day or two. We'll update Cuddyer's status when more details are available.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer sitting vs. Brewers

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 13:48:27 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 24. OF Darrell Ceciliani is starting in left field and batting fifth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Jimmy Nelson Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to replace Cuddyer ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) in your seasonal lineups and avoid him at FantasyScore. He is currently stuck in a 3-for-21 funk and likely should be reserved for deep yearly formats only. Ceciliani ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief for FantasyScore players Wednesday.

Mets | NY scuffling offensively

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 13:09:22 -0700

New York Mets 2B Dilson Herrera (1-for-17), OF Juan Lagares (3-for-23), 1B Lucas Duda (3-for-21) and OF Michael Cuddyer (3-for-21) have all been struggling on the team's current road trip. The Mets are hitting .168 with four home runs and eight runs scored while losing six straight on the road.

Fantasy Tip: That's a hint to consider using Jimmy Nelson ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) as a risk-reward option on FantasyScore against the Mets tonight. New York ranks 28th in baseball with a .659 OPS against right-handed pitchers. Shying away from Mets hitters right now in daily contests is wise.
