Mets | Michael Cuddyer retiring |
Fri, 11 Dec 2015 18:26:32 -0800
New York Mets OF/1B Michael Cuddyer has announced his retirement.
Fantasy Tip: The 36-year-old Cuddyer hit .259 with 10 home runs and 41 RBIs in 117 regular-season games with the Mets in 2015. The move comes as a surprise because he would have made $12.5 million in the final season of a two-year deal if he had decided to return for the 2016 campaign. It is uncertain if Cuddyer will receive any portion of next year's salary.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer undergoes surgery |
Fri, 06 Nov 2015 17:10:53 -0800
New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer (hernia) underwent surgery for a sports hernia Thursday, Nov. 5, although the team officially described the procedure as "core muscle" surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Despite the surgery, Cuddyer is expected to have a normal spring training camp without any limitations. He hit .259 with 10 home runs and 41 RBIs in 117 regular-season games during his first season in the Big Apple and only went 1-for-11 in the postseason. Cuddyer is unlikely to have much value outside of NL-only leagues, with Michael Conforto expected to see the bulk of the playing time in left field in 2016.

Mets | Lucas Duda not in Game 1 lineup |
Sat, 17 Oct 2015 12:24:50 -0700
Updating a previous report, New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Chicago Cubs Saturday, Oct. 17. 1B/OF Michael Cuddyer will play first base and bat sixth.
Fantasy Tip: Duda ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) went 2-for-18 with 11 strikeouts during the NLDS and is sitting out versus left-handed SP Jon Lester. Cuddyer ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is 0-for-4 with a walk during the playoffs but could be a productive source of FantasyScore salary cap relief.

Mets | Juan Lagares draws into starting lineup |
Mon, 12 Oct 2015 13:19:31 -0700
New York Mets OF Juan Lagares is starting in center field and batting eighth against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson in Game 3 of the National League Division Series Monday, Oct. 12. OF Michael Cuddyer is not in the starting lineup Monday.
Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) started just 17 games after Saturday, Aug. 1, but he played well when called upon and posted a respectable .287/.326/.471 slash line over the span. FantasyScore players shouldn't view him as anything other than a true flier, though.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer to be main left fielder |
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 17:06:29 -0700
New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer is expected to receive most of the starts in left field over OF Michael Conforto during the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, since the Mets are expected to face primarily left-handed starting pitching.
Fantasy Tip: The only time Conforto ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) might crack the lineup during the NLDS is when the Mets face right-handed SP Zack Greinke, so he should be avoided in FantasyScore. The other Dodger starting pitching options for the NLDS (Clayton Kershaw, Brett Anderson and possibly Alex Wood) are southpaws. Cuddyer ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) hit .273 with one home run and five RBIs in 99 at-bats against lefties during the regular season but went hitless in eight at-bats versus the Dodgers this year.

Wed, 07 Oct 2015 09:45:21 -0700
New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer will start over OF Michael Conforto in left field in Game 1 of the division series against Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed SP Clayton Kershaw Friday, Oct. 9, according to manager Terry Collins.
Fantasy Tip: With the Mets likely facing three lefties in this five-game series, Conforto ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is a bad play on FantasyScore. Cuddyer ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) hit .273 (27-for-99) against lefties this year but had just one of his 10 homers off them.

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 07:20:16 -0700
New York Mets OF Curtis Granderson is not in the starting lineup for the first game of a doubleheader against the Washington Nationals Saturday, Oct. 3. OF Michael Cuddyer will start in right field against SP Gio Gonzalez and is batting fifth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Granderson ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) likely is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Cuddyer ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is hitting .111 with two RBI over the last seven days and may not be the best option.

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 07:25:40 -0700
New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is out of the lineup Thursday, Oct. 1, with 1B Michael Cuddyer hitting cleanup.
Fantasy Tip: Cuddy ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is a shell of himself and had a meager .250-0-3 in September. He's not a good FantasyScore option against Jerad Eickhoff.

Mets | Regulars resting for the Mets |
Sun, 27 Sep 2015 07:23:12 -0700
New York Mets OFs Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson and Michael Cuddyer, C, Travis d'Arnaud, 1B Lucas Duda, 2B Daniel Murphy and 3B David Wright are not in the starting lineup against the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, Sept. 27.
Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players should view the Mets as extremely risky starts in contests Sunday. Although it may be tempting to start Kyevius Sampson ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) against a low-upside lineup, he owns a 6.45 ERA through 11 appearances this season and still carries significant risk.
