Nationals | Several WAS regulars return to lineup

Sun, 22 May 2016 08:10:37 -0700

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman, OF Jayson Werth and C Wilson Ramos are back in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Adam Conley Sunday, May 22.

Fantasy Tip: Despite getting off to a lackluster start this year, Werth is batting .455 (10-for-22) with three home runs and seven RBI versus left-handed pitching, making him worthy of lineup consideration for daily fantasy games. Ramos is batting .333 in 72 at-bats on the road and is hitting .339 overall, so he should be viewed as a potential value play.

Nationals | Three Nats on the bench

Sat, 21 May 2016 13:58:36 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth, 1B Ryan Zimmerman and C Wilson Ramos are out of the lineup Saturday, May 21. OF Chris Heisey is hitting second, 1B Clint Robinson hits fifth and C Jose Lobaton hits eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Heisey has rather pedestrian numbers on the year, but he has two homers in 15 at-bats this month. He has a tough draw against Jose Fernandez, but he has upside ahead of Bryce Harper. Robinson has a .294-2-6 line in 17 at-bats this month and has taken Fernandez deep before. He's a fringe option worth consideration today. Lobaton doesn't have the offensive potential for the stream today.

Nationals | Jayson Werth busy on the bases

Wed, 18 May 2016 20:34:41 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth went 2-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored against the New York Mets Wednesday, May 18.

Fantasy Tip: Werth has been playing better over the last week and has six hits in his last four games. He is hitting only .222 so far this season but can be a decent starting option in some daily fantasy leagues.

Nationals | Jayson Werth batting No. 2 Tuesday

Tue, 17 May 2016 13:16:53 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth will bat second Tuesday, May 17, against New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard. Werth has batted sixth in recent games.

Fantasy Tip: In an effort to get Anthony Rendon going, manager Dusty Baker switched Rendon and Werth in the lineup. Werth has four hits in his last five games, but he is .206-4-15 away from Nationals Park this season. Still, moving Werth up to the second spot will give him more chances to score or drive in runs, so take a flyer with Werth hitting this high in the lineup.

Nationals | Daniel Murphy, Jayson Werth resting

Sun, 15 May 2016 09:17:09 -0700

Washington Nationals 2B Daniel Murphy and OF Jayson Werth are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Jose Fernandez Sunday, May 15. INF Stephen Drew will play second base and bat eighth, while 1B/OF Clint Robinson will bat fifth and play left field.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is only hitting .194 but he has two home runs and eight RBI through 31 at-bats so he could be viewed as a productive source of cap relief in daily contests. Drew is batting .154 through 39 at-bats and is not a viable option in any fantasy format.

Nationals | Two Nationals regulars sitting

Sat, 14 May 2016 15:12:41 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth and SS Danny Espinosa are out of the lineup Saturday, May 14. OF Matt den Dekker is hitting sixth, and SS Stephen Drew is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Drew hit a pinch-hit homer yesterday, but he's hitting just .162. He's a bit of a shot in the dark against Kendry Flores in his major league debut. As for den Dekker, he's hitting .188 and doesn't have much power upside. Pass on him today.

Nationals | Jayson Werth out of the lineup

Mon, 09 May 2016 12:52:35 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez Monday, May 9. OF Ben Revere will start in left field, while OF Michael Taylor will start in center field and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor is hitting only .150 over the last seven days and has only one RBI in the last 13 games. Owners probably can avoid Taylor in daily fantasy leagues and find better options to use.

Nationals | Jayson Werth with a good Saturday

Sat, 30 Apr 2016 16:13:33 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth homered and drove in four runs Saturday, April 30.

Fantasy Tip: He had a miserable start to the season and was 4-for-23 (.174) the last seven days coming into today. He remains a midrange outfield option.

Nationals | Jayson Werth injury not serious

Thu, 21 Apr 2016 10:37:19 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth (hamstring) has downplayed his injury and doesn't expect to miss significant time after his left hamstring tightened up Wednesday, April 20. Manager Dusty Baker said it was a precautionary thing. Werth has two home runs and a .933 OPS in the last seven games.

Fantasy Tip: Werth is a streaky hitter, so while he's hot you should want to keep him in your lineups. Unfortunately, he's also injury-prone, too, and 2015 was a lost year because of ailments. Werth helps with power and on-base percentage as outfield depth in mixed leagues.

Washington Nationals 1B Ryan Zimmerman and OF Jayson Werth (hamstring) are out of the lineup Thursday, April 21. OF Matt den Dekker is leading off, and 1B Clint Robinson is hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Tom Koehler is on the bump for the Fish, and den Dekker and Robinson aren't hitting above .100. Pass on them today.
