Rangers | Prince Fielder moves to cleanup

Fri, 11 Apr 2014 15:06:41 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder will bat cleanup Friday, April 11, in place of 3B Adrian Beltre (quadriceps). Manager Ron Washington said he chose Fielder because he's more comfortable in that slot than Alex Rios is.

Fantasy Tip: This doesn't change either player's overall value that much; they're already fantasy stalwarts. Fielder may get a chance at more RBI for however long Beltre is sidelined.

Rangers | Alex Rios encouraged to run

Fri, 11 Apr 2014 09:57:48 -0700

Texas Rangers OF Alex Rios has been encouraged to run more on the base paths since being traded to the Rangers, and he's 18-for-19 in stolen base attempts with them, including two swipes this year. "We've encouraged him to run," said baserunning instructor Gary Pettis. "He's always been a very good baserunner. It's one of many things he does very well." Rios ranks second in the American League in steals since last August. Manager Ron Washington urges all his players to be aggressive on the base paths, as well.

Fantasy Tip: Rios gives you a combination of power and speed in a great hitter's ballpark and in a great lineup that is hard to find. His high draft price is worth the skills that he possesses.
