Saints | Still Looking

Sun, 23 Jun 2002 09:03:26 -0700

The Advocate reports the New Orleans Saints search for a veteran, backup RB continues. Although free agent RB Terry Allen visited earlier last week, he was not signed. At this point, they probably won't intensify the search until just before the start of training camp. "We're still looking," coach Jim Haslett said. "I don't think we're comfortable yet. Most of our young guys have been hurt the whole off-season, so we really haven't had a chance to look at them. We're going to keep our eyes open."

Ravens | No Go On Allen?

Mon, 13 May 2002 18:50:36 -0700

The Baltimore Sun reports the Baltimore Ravens are not currently attempting to re-sign RB Terry Allen as some reports have stated. "He's probably at that point in his career where we'd have to see what other options are there, particularly those that might present more of a long-term possibility," coach Brian Billick said. "We'd love to have Terry's character and professionalism here for those young guys, but it might be prudent to go with a little bit younger an athlete."
