The Denver Broncos and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio agreed to terms Thursday, Feb. 6, on a new two-year contract. The deal is expected to be finalized Friday, Feb. 7. "Jack did a nice job with our defensive," executive vice president of football operations John Elway said. "We had a lot of injuries on that defensive side and Jack did a good job holding that side together. Even in the Super Bowl, our defense kept us in the game in the first half."

Denver Broncos defensive coordinator and interim head coach Jack Del Rio said he doesn't plan to tinker with the team's offensive game plan much at all as he takes over for head coach John Fox (heart). Offensive coordinator Adam Gase will call the offensive plays and QB Peyton Manning will make audibles at the line. "I'm not going in tinkering with things on offense or special teams. We have good people there, and they're doing their jobs," Del Rio said.

Fantasy Tip: The offense in Denver is Manning's show, so not a whole lot will change in Week 10 against the San Diego Chargers. Start all of their offensive playmakers as you have been all season.

Former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio wasn't liked inside the team's facility the past couple of years, and there were many inside who felt once Del Rio got paid his big contract he lost the zest for being a head coach. According to sources, Del Rio was coming into the office later in the mornings most days and leaving early, which rubbed his staff the wrong way. It also rubbed the front office the wrong way.

Jones-Drew's contract expires after the 2009 season. Del Rio said, "I think Maurice is a great football player and an even better teammate. So I would like to have us get him done. There is a process that takes place where two sides try and get something done and we'll work at that privately to get that done and hopefully that'll be resolved shortly."
