Former NFL QB Jeff George is in camp with the Minnesota Vikings as a guest instructor and mentor to QB Christian Ponder. "We told our players just to be able to pick his brain, our quarterbacks, and talk with him about some of the things he saw as a young quarterback and what he saw as a veteran and just his maturation over the course of his career," head coach Leslie Frazier said. "He was a very good player for a long time, high draft pick, and I think he can really help our players with some of his background and his knowledge as well."
Fantasy Tip: Ponder hasn't impressed in his time in the NFL, but in his defense, he hasn't had much to work with through the air besides Percy Harvin. He has a few more weapons after the signing of Greg Jennings and the selection of Cordarrelle Patterson in the draft, but the Vikes' offense still runs through Adrian Peterson. Ponder is a shaky backup option heading into draft season.

Sean Leahy, of USA Today, reports former NFL QB Jeff George said he would like to make a return to the National Football League. "I feel like I can still play, and if there's someone out there to give me a shot, that would be wonderful," George said to IlliniHQ.com. "You look throughout the league, you see 20 teams that need quarterbacks – 20 teams need starters – and probably everybody needs a backup. In my opinion, there's just not a lot of quality quarterbacks out there these days."

Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports QB Jeff George, who last played in an NFL game in 2001, is interested in returning to the league for the Minnesota Vikings. "I know they're banged up," said George. "But with a running back like Adrian Peterson, I would be licking my chops. With that running back, you need someone who can throw that deep ball, and I know I still can. I don't care about the talent at receiver."
