Reds | Marlon Byrd out of Tuesday lineup

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 12:25:34 -0700

Cincinnati Reds OF Marlon Byrd is not starting Tuesday, July 7, against the Washington Nationals. 2B Skip Schumaker is starting in Byrd's place.

Fantasy Tip: This is a bit of a surprise as Byrd ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has a 10-game hitting streak and a .356 average during that streak. It is likely because Max Scherzer is pitching for the Nationals. Byrd has a .200 mark with four strikeouts against Scherzer, and Schumaker ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has three hits in six at-bats.

Reds | Marlon Byrd back in lineup

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 12:53:34 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Byrd ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has been swinging the bat well recently. He's hit two homers in his last six games and has eight hits total in those six games. Harvey has pitched splendidly in his last two outings, which could bode poorly for Byrd, but he's a good starting option until he stops this hot streak he's on.

Dominguez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has been respectable when given a chance, and he stands as desperation source of cap relief for FantasyScore players.

Reds | Marlon Byrd eyeing return

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 16:04:42 -0700

Cincinnati Reds OF Marlon Byrd (wrist) will play two games with Class AA Pensacola, and if everything goes well, he could potentially return to the Reds this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Byrd ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been extremely streaky this season, but he was opportunistic in May. During the month, Byrd had 14 runs, eight home runs and 17 RBI with a .244/.353/.581 slash line. Give him a game or two to find his groove again at the plate, but FantasyScore players could have a bargain on their hands when Byrd is hot.
