Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (hamstring) will start his rehab assignment Saturday, April 19, likely with Triple-A Pawtucket. He'll play Monday, April 21, Tuesday, April 22, and could return by Thursday, April 24.
Fantasy Tip: Things will get a bit interesting with the outfield alignment when Victorino returns. John Farrell will likely go with Jackie Bradley Jr., Grady Sizemore and Victorino most often if he values defense first. That means Daniel Nava and Jonny Gomes will lose some value.

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (hamstring) took batting practice and did some running Friday, April 11, and said he would need only two to three rehab games to get his timing back down before returning.
Fantasy Tip: Victorino could be back relatively quickly, and Jonny Gomes and Daniel Nava figure to be the losers if John Farrell wants to keep both Grady Sizemore and Jackie Bradley Jr. in the lineup together.

Boston Red Sox OF Grady Sizemore is making his first ever start in left field Thursday, April 10, with OF Jackie Bradley Jr. getting the nod in center. Manager John Farrell isn't committing this arraignment permanently, since the team likes to get OF Jonny Gomes some playing time in left field. How well Bradley continues to play might determine how often Farrell deploys this alignment. Bradley has a slash line of .400/.478/.978 this year and is 6-for-12 with two doubles, four runs, four RBIs and three walks in the last four games. Sizemore has had some defensive lapses lately. If the Red Sox continue to start Sizemore and Bradley when OF Shane Victorino (hamstring) returns, it could mean a loss of playing time for Gomes and OF Daniel Nava, who has had a slow start to the season.
Fantasy Tip: Bradley should be owned in all leagues now that he's gotten his opportunity this year and is running with it. Sizemore's defensive shortcomings in center will help Bradley's cause.

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (hamstring, flu) resumed baseball activities Wednesday, April 9, and he's optimistic that he'll be able to come off the disabled list next week. However, the flu he's battling caused him to lose eight to 12 pounds and he couldn't get out of bed most last week. Victorino admitted he'll probably need a few rehab games to build his endurance before returning. He admits the Grade 1 strain of his right hamstring was a "freak" injury that couldn't have been prevented.
Fantasy Tip: Victorino is a slow healer, so don't be surprised if he isn't back next week. When he does return, the BoSox might go with some kind of outfield rotation between Victorino, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Grady Sizemore.
