Eagles | Sickness spreading among Eagles |
Thu, 01 Feb 2018 11:55:34 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles DT Timmy Jernigan (illness), CB Ronald Darby (illness) and LB Mychal Kendricks (illness), RB Kenjon Barner (illness) and even head coach Doug Pederson (illness) have all been dealing with a sickness that has spread around Philadelphia's locker room, according to Kendricks. "It's like a cold," Kendricks said. "I think it started sometime last week. Something we've got to get through. We'll be fine."

Eagles | Wendell Smallwood to miss game |
Sun, 08 Oct 2017 07:27:22 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood (knee) will not play in Week 5, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Fantasy Tip: Corey Clement and Kenjon Barner probably will be more involved in the offense with Smallwood sidelined. Clement can be a flex option in most leagues because he has been productive over the last few games. Barner could be a desperation flex option in deeper leagues since he is a similar running back to Smallwood.

Eagles | LeGarrette Blount gets vote of confidence |
Tue, 22 Aug 2017 09:46:22 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount is a "beast of a runner" and going to be "a big part of our offense," according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Fantasy Tip: Blount has been the opposite of a "beast" this preseason and will be hard-pressed to be a big part of the offense given he will lose late-down work to Darren Sproles. The Eagles have repeatedly and foolishly tried to get him on the perimeter this preseason and don't figure to be playing with the same degree of positive game scripts New England enjoyed last year. Blount is going to be tough to trust as anything more than a flex this season.

Eagles | Doug Pederson not giving up play-calling |
Tue, 18 Jul 2017 09:17:50 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was a full-time play-caller for the first time last season and does not plan on ceding those duties to offensive coordinator Frank Reich at any point in the near future. "After going through a year of calling a full season, it's hard to give that up personally, selfishly. … You're part of the game, the whole fabric of the game. It's just hard to give it up. I'm still kind of in my mind processing all of it, how it would work if I did that (give it up). But as of right now, I'm not," Pederson said.

Eagles | Zach Ertz dealing with rib injury |
Mon, 12 Sep 2016 09:23:20 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) is considered week-to-week with a rib displacement and his status for Week 2 is in question, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Fantasy Tip: The rib is not broken or cracked, but it appears there is a good chance Ertz will miss the Eagles' Week 2 Monday Night Football showdown against the Chicago Bears. Preseason star Trey Burton was inactive in Week 1 due to a calf injury, so Philadelphia could be forced to rely on Brent Celek and find some help outside of the organization if Ertz and Burton don't make significant progress this week.

Eagles | Carson Wentz likely to be Week 1 inactive |
Sun, 17 Jul 2016 14:46:04 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz is expected to be inactive for Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, according to head coach Doug Pederson. "It's hard right now to look down the road, but if we had to play this week, Carson would be down. He'd be the third quarterback. He'd be deactivated. That's probably the direction we're heading," Pederson told reporters.
Fantasy Tip: This has been the expectation all along, but Peterson appears to be confirming that Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel will start the season atop the depth chart. The Eagles do have a Week 4 bye, so it is possible they could turn to Wentz if they start 0-3, although that appears unlikely. Nevertheless, Bradford's hold on the starting job will likely be tenuous all season long, making him a low-end QB2 in fantasy at best.

Eagles | West Coast offense in Philly? |
Mon, 25 Jan 2016 09:23:05 -0800
With the arrival of new Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, the Eagles are expected to switch to the West Coast offense that doesn't require as much blocking for its tight ends.
Fantasy Tip: Ertz's contract extension in Philly is a good sign that Pederson wants him to be a big part of the offense moving forward. Brent Celek remains in town, too, which hurts Ertz's ceiling, but with a lack of blocking responsibilities in a new offense, Ertz could easily reach TE1 levels more weeks than not.

Mon, 18 Jan 2016 11:21:19 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was officially announced as Philadelphia's new head coach Monday, Jan. 18.
Fantasy Tip: This addition may give a little bit of a boost to Sam Bradford, if he stays, and the passing game as Pederson was a former NFL quarterback and quarterbacks coach. The fantasy value of DeMarco Murray still hangs in the balance.

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 14:40:14 -0800
Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson is expected to be the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: The Eagles can't officially announce the move until the Chiefs' season is over, but it looks like the Eagles have their man. This move could be beneficial to Sam Bradford, if Bradford returns to the Eagles, as Pederson has experience as a quarterbacks coach and as a NFL quarterback.

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 07:32:37 -0800
Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson is believed to be a leading candidate for the Philadelphia Eagles' head coaching vacancy, according to multiple sources.
Fantasy Tip: Pederson served as an offensive quality control coach and quarterbacks coach for the Eagles under Andy Reid from 2009 to 2012, before joining him in Kansas City as the offensive coordinator for the past three seasons. As a former NFL quarterback, Sam Bradford is likely to benefit from Pederson's potential hiring, assuming the soon-to-be free agent returns to the team in 2016.

Former Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur will likely be lured to the Chiefs by Reid, as well as Browns offensive coordinator Brad Childress. Doug Pederson, who was an assistant coach in Philadelphia in 2009, could be another option. Reid has reportedly made an offer to former Eagles defensive coordinator Juan Castillo to become the offensive line coach.
