Ravens | Marc Trestman wants to learn, not take over

Wed, 21 Jan 2015 12:44:55 -0800

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Marc Trestman said he wants to learn the specificities of the team's offense instead of changing it. Head coach John Harbaugh said Trestman's familiarity and success with a West Coast offense were prominent factors in the team's decision to hire Trestman.

Fantasy Tip: We still don't know what will happen with Ray Rice or Justin Forsett, but the offense as a whole should benefit with the addition of Trestman. That being said, there's always the risk of rustiness to start off the year.

Bears | Chicago wants to run more

Mon, 01 Dec 2014 14:37:45 -0800

Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman wants to run the ball more. "Running the football has a residual effect on a lot of different things," Trestman said. "It helps your movement game. It helps your play-action game. We all know these things. We didn't get it done last week. We admit to that, and we have to move forward."

Fantasy Tip: The lack of a running game undeniably had a negative impact on Matt Forte's production last week, but he still caught six passes for 52 yards. Forte's pass-catching ability makes him an every-week starter in all scoring formats, but especially point-per-reception formats.

Bears | Could rest starters in Week 16

Thu, 19 Dec 2013 15:09:16 -0800

The Chicago Bears may be faced with a situation where they could rest some of their starters in Week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night. If the Detroit Lions lose to the New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bears' game won't matter much in the grand scheme. The Bears and Packers would decide the division in Week 17 regardless of what happens to the Bears in Week 16. "Winning does take us to a different place in terms of potential seeding, which is critically important," head coach Marc Trestman said. "That's enough to reason out how we would play the game. Now could that change? Certainly. But right now we're focused on winning a game."
