Mon, 03 Aug 2015 22:19:16 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) went 2-for-4 with a run scored Monday, Aug. 3, against the Baltimore Orioles in his first game back from the 15-day disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) looked good despite the long layoff and he can be trusted again in FantasyScore.

Athletics | Coco Crisp returns to the lineup

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 14:50:29 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) was activated from the disabled list Monday, Aug. 3, and he is playing left field and batting second against Baltimore Orioles SP Tyler Wilson Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has only played 13 games all season, and he missed all of June and July. So fantasy owners should keep their expectations in check early on in all formats, but especially at FantasyScore. In season leagues, Crisp likely should be reserved for deep mixed and AL-only leagues. At 35 and with all the injuries, though, there really might not be a lot left in the tank for Crisp to return in terms of fantasy production.

Athletics | Coco Crisp won't lead off

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 17:20:37 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) will likely bat second behind OF Billy Burns when he is activated from the disabled list, manager Bob Melvin said Sunday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is hitting just .044 in limited action this year, and you can afford to take a wait-and-see approach with him at FantasyScore.

Athletics | Coco Crisp close to returning

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 17:03:11 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) played all nine innings in a rehab game for Class A Stockton Thursday, July 30. He is expected to rejoin the parent club Sunday, Aug. 2, and could resume playing as soon as Monday, Aug. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) was only 2-for-45 in 13 games before landing on the disabled list and appears to have lost his job in center field to speedy rookie Billy Burns ($4,900, 9.8% of cap). Crisp shouldn't be owned outside of AL-only leagues and FantasyScore owners should avoid using him immediately following his activation from the disabled list.

Athletics | Coco Crisp getting day off

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 17:07:56 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck), who is currently on a minor league rehab assignment, is not in the starting lineup for Class A Stockton Wednesday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is receiving a scheduled day off on his rehab assignment and has not suffered a setback. No timetable has been established for his return to the majors but the A's do not need to rush him back, thanks to the emergence of Billy Burns ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) in center field. Crisp should only be rostered in AL-only leagues.

Athletics | Coco Crisp rehabbing Monday

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:12:45 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) is making a rehab appearance with Class A Stockton Monday, July 27.

Fantasy Tip: The A's have no reason to rush Crisp ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) back, and he's one setback away from retirement. Even when he's healthy, Crisp might have a tough time finding his way into the lineup in the second half with the emergence of leadoff man and center fielder Billy Burns. Crisp should only be stashed away in the deepest of leagues.

Athletics | Coco Crisp rehab update

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 16:32:31 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) took dry swings Friday, July 17, and could resume taking batting practice soon.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp could experience difficulty getting regular at-bats in Oakland's lineup during the second half of the season due to the emergence of speedy rookie Billy Burns ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) in center field. He was only 2-for-45 this year prior to landing on the disabled list and should not be stashed outside of AL-only leagues.

Athletics | Coco Crisp to 60-day DL

Mon, 08 Jun 2015 09:22:15 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) was moved to the 60-day disabled list over the weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp is facing an uphill battle to play again this year, and there's a good chance he may never play in the big leagues again if he needs surgery. Billy Burns ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has become an everyday outfielder and should be owned in all leagues for his speed. Burns is also a very valuable commodity for daily games while hitting atop Oakland's lineup.

Athletics | Coco Crisp receives epidural

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 14:19:15 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) received an epidural injection in his neck Monday, June 1, and he'll be shut down for the next month.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp could return at some point in the second half and see playing time, but he's fighting an uphill battle at his age. Ben Zobrist ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been playing left field against righties since coming off the DL, and his bat could be coming around after hitting a grand slam last night. Consider Zobrist an under-the-radar value play in the right matchups.

Athletics | Coco Crisp to undergo bone scan

Fri, 29 May 2015 16:57:01 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) is scheduled to undergo a bone scan Monday, June 1. He will not receive the epidural until after the scan.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see if Crisp ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) will be able to play again this season. Sam Fuld ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) could see regular playing time with Crisp sidelined but is not a great option on FantasyScore since he is hitting only .195 on the season.
