Athletics | Coco Crisp not in lineup

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 17:06:29 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25. OF Jake Smolinski is starting in left field and hitting sixth against Seattle Mariners SP Mike Montgomery.

Fantasy Tip: On the season, Smolinski ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is hitting a measley .196 (18-for-92), but he does have 10 hits in his first 32 at-bats for the A's, including two home runs and eight RBI. Still, he's a low-end outfield option in daily contests while taking hacks in a pitcher-friendly environment.

Athletics | Coco Crisp has mixed results against Iwakuma

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 10:19:08 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp is hitting .188 (3-for-16) in his career against Seattle Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma, but Crisp has two home runs and a double. Crisp faces Iwakuma Monday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is batting .283 (13-for-46) with no home runs and two RBI since his return from the DL. He's not guaranteed to be in the lineup every day, though, and he won't offer you much power or stolen bases on FantasyScore. With Iwakuma coming off a no-hitter and pitching very well since his return from the DL, Crisp is one to avoid in daily games.

Athletics | Coco Crisp still resting

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 11:17:48 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (hip, ankle) remains out of the lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19, and the team is hoping he can return Friday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Jake Smolinski was called up and is starting in left field today against Los Angeles Dodgers starter Alex Wood. He'll be cheap on FantasyScore, but shouldn't be seen as anything more than a deep sleeper who'll save you salary cap space.

Athletics | Coco Crisp nursing injuries

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 14:52:01 -0700

Updating a previous report, Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (hip, ankle) is "a little banged up" and nursing hip and ankle soreness after colliding with teammate SS Marcus Semien during the game Sunday, Aug. 16, according to manager Bob Melvin.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is having a dreadful campaign, and he isn't worth a roster spot in the majority of leagues. After all, he has a single RBI and stolen base and a putrid .157 batting average this season. Those owners in cavernous mixed and AL-only formats will want to keep tabs on his injury status over the next few days.

Athletics | Coco Crisp sitting vs. Orioles

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 12:33:39 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp is not in the starting lineup Monday, Aug. 17. OF Mark Canha is playing left field and batting second against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Crisp ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday, and his seasonal value is limited to cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues. He is hitting just .157 through 94 plate appearances this season. Canha ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) owns an uninspiring .256/.293/.359 slash line in August, and he is nothing more than a low-priced flier at FantasyScore Monday.

Athletics | Coco Crisp sitting out

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 13:13:32 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp is out of the lineup Saturday, Aug. 15, with OF Sam Fuld hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Fuld ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) isn't a good start on FantasyScore against Miguel Gonzalez. He's hitting .120 this month and .196 on the year.

Athletics | Coco Crisp leaves early

Sat, 08 Aug 2015 17:24:08 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (illness) left in the third inning against the Houston Astros and was replaced by OF Sam Fuld Saturday, Aug. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has been hitless in five of the six games since his return from the disabled list, and even if he is able to return to the lineup Sunday, Aug. 9, he should be avoided at FantasyScore.

Athletics | Coco Crisp batting second vs. Astros

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 14:35:46 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) is starting in left field and batting second against Houston Astros SP Scott Feldman Thursday, Aug. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is an upside source of cap relief for FantasyScore players, as he has reached base twice in both of his starts since returning from the disabled list Monday, Aug. 3. Still, he isn't without risk. Seasonal owners shouldn't be counting on much from Crisp in the majority of leagues, either.

Athletics | Coco Crisp returns to action

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 18:05:17 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) grounded out during an appearance as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning Wednesday, Aug. 5, against the Baltimore Orioles. He had been scratched from the lineup due to neck stiffness.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp's ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) appearance in the game proves that the injury wasn't serious, even though he has been bothered by neck issues for most of the season. He is only batting .096 (5-for-52) overall but he is 3-for-8 (.375) in three games since returning from the disabled list.

Athletics | Coco Crisp has neck stiffness

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 10:33:56 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) is out of the lineup because of some neck stiffness Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp has had his fair share of injuries, and at his age, he'll likely need plenty of days off to finish out the season healthy. Mark Canha ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is starting in left field and hitting seventh against Baltimore Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen. Canha doesn't have great numbers against lefties this year, so he's not a strong FantasyScore pick as a sleeper.
