Brewers | Chase Anderson to Milwaukee

Sat, 30 Jan 2016 15:54:06 -0800

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson, 2B Aaron Hill, SS Isan Diaz and cash were acquired by the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, Jan. 30. The Brewers sent SS Jean Segura and P Tyler Wagner to the Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson will benefit slightly from leaving Chase Field, where he had a 4.56 ERA at home last season. He was shelled in his only start in Miller Park, but he remains an option to round out your fantasy rotation. Hill will be 34 in March, and he has begun declining with a .230-6-39 line last year. A change of scenery could serve him well, though, and he's worth consideration for your MI spot.

Diamondbacks | Arizona looking to move Aaron Hill

Sun, 24 Jan 2016 10:51:35 -0800

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is a player that the Diamondbacks are looking to trade.

Fantasy Tip: Hill likely will be a bench player this season if he remains with the Diamondbacks but could start if he goes to another team. Hill probably should be considered as a late-round option in deeper leagues at this point but could have more value if he has a starting job.

Diamondbacks | Arizona discussing Brandon Phillips

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 10:33:54 -0800

The Arizona Diamondbacks are discussing a potential trade for Cincinnati Reds 2B Brandon Phillips that would involve 2B Aaron Hill, according to major league sources. However, Phillips has the right to veto any trade as a player with 10 years of major league service and five with the same team. The discussions haven't been serious yet, though, according to a source. The deal could advance to include more players and financial exchange. Phillips is under contract for $13 million next year but also is due $14 million in 2017, which could be a road block to a deal.

Fantasy Tip: At age 34, Phillips is a declining player that would be leaving one of the best hitting environments in baseball for a more neutral location. He's no longer a lock to hit 15 home runs anymore and probably will struggle to hover around .300 again in 2016.

Diamondbacks | Jake Lamb out against lefty

Fri, 02 Oct 2015 16:30:45 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb is not in the lineup against Houston Astros left-handed SP Dallas Keuchel Friday, Oct. 2. 2B Aaron Hill is starting at third base and hitting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has had limited at-bats this year and has only two home runs against southpaws in 2015. Ignore him in daily formats against one of the best lefties in the American League this year.

Diamondbacks | Brandon Drury out of Sunday lineup

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 11:25:58 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Brandon Drury is not starting Sunday, Sept. 27, against the San Diego Padres. 2B Aaron Hill is batting second against Padres SP James Shields.

Fantasy Tip: Drury ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has a .318 average in the past week, but Sunday appears to be a normal off day. Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has some success against San Diego with a .289 average, so he is worth the low FantasyScore price.

Dodgers | Brett Anderson gives up the longball

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 04:19:51 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson gave up five runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings, including homers to Arizona Diamondbacks OF Yasmany Tomas and 2B Aaron Hill, as the Dodgers lost 8-4 on Monday, Sept. 21. Anderson's 17 home runs allowed are the most on the Dodgers' staff.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has not been a Dodger disaster this year, but his 9-9 record is cause for concern. His higher FantasyScore salary suggests a pitcher you should sit down for the time being.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill not in lineup Saturday

Sat, 19 Sep 2015 11:22:37 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Mike Leake Saturday, Sept. 19. INF Phil Gosselin will bat sixth and play second base.

Fantasy Tip: Gosselin ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .257 with two home runs and nine RBIs this month and can be viewed as a productive source of salary cap relief in FantasyScore.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill remains out of lineup

Sat, 05 Sep 2015 10:03:32 -0700

Updating a previous report, Arizona Diamondbacks INF Aaron Hill (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta Saturday, Sept. 5. INF Brandon Drury will play second base and bat seventh, while INF Chris Owings will bat eighth and play shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Consider Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) to be day-to-day and avoid using him in your lineups. Drury is not yet available in FantasyScore but Owings ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is 10-for-22 (.455) with four RBIs over the last seven days and should be considered as a middle infield value option.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill could play Saturday

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 18:01:45 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale is hopeful that 2B Aaron Hill (hamstring) can return to the starting lineup against the Chicago Cubs Saturday, Sept. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) was available off the bench Friday, Sept. 4, but did not get into the game. He is batting .276 with one home run and 12 RBIs since Aug. 1, and may be of interest to FantasyScore owners who are in need of salary cap relief.

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 21:46:24 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (hamstring) left the game Tuesday, Sept. 1, against the Colorado Rockies due to a sore hamstring, according to manager Chip Hale.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.
