Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill starting at second base

Mon, 04 May 2015 14:54:07 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is batting sixth and playing second base against the Colorado Rockies Monday, May 4.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been in and out of the lineup and sports a .196/.237/.286 slash line for the season. However, he is currently riding a 4-for-11 run with a home run and starting in Coors Field against a lefty might help Hill continue his offensive surge. Consider him a low-priced flier in FantasyScore contests Monday.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill receives a start

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 16:08:34 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is starting at second base and hitting seventh in the batting order against Colorado Rockies SP Kyle Kendrick Tuesday, April 28. SS Nick Ahmed is not playing.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is batting only .156 (7-for-45) with no homers and two RBI on the season. He's a low-end second base option, but he has a good matchup against Kendrick at Chase Field.

Diamondbacks | Yasmany Tomas sees another start

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 13:41:18 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B/OF Yasmany Tomas is starting at third base and hitting fifth in the batting order against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole Friday, April 24. 2B Aaron Hill is sitting the bench tonight.

Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has epic power abilities, but his inconsistent playing time makes him hard to rely on at FantasyScore. The matchup against Cole isn't endearing to daily gamers, either.

Diamondbacks | No Yasmany Tomas Wednesday

Wed, 22 Apr 2015 14:01:00 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B/OF Yasmany Tomas is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 22, a day after making his starting debut at the hot corner. 2B Aaron Hill is starting at third base and hitting fifth in the batting order against Texas Rangers SP Yovani Gallardo.

Fantasy Tip: Tomas had two hits in his starting debut Wednesday night, but his fantasy owners in seasonal leagues will be frustrated by his inconsistent playing time in Arizona. Hill ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is off to a slow start (.171, 6-for-35) and only has three hits in 18 at-bats against Gallardo. Look elsewhere for your FantasyScore second baseman.

Diamondbacks | Jake Lamb out 2-3 more weeks?

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 15:48:14 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb (foot) may not return for two-to-three more weeks, according to manager Chip Hale, Tuesday, April 21. 2B Aaron Hill will continue to receive the majority of the starts at the hot corner, while Hale said prospect 3B Yasmany Tomas could see occasional time at third.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has just six hits in 37 plate appearances to begin the 2015 season, and has been on a pretty steady decline offensively, since 2012. Tomas ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has one hit in his first four major league plate appearances, but isn't worth owning with the exception of a deep stash in keeper leagues.

Diamondbacks | Jake Lamb not playing vs. lefty

Thu, 16 Apr 2015 14:57:53 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants left-handed SP Madison Bumgarner Thursday, April 16. 2B Aaron Hill is starting at the hot corner and hitting fifth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has just five hits in 27 at-bats to start the year, including six strikeouts. Against Bumgarner, he's not the most ideal option for FantasyScore users tonight.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill starting at third

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 13:25:21 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is starting at third base and batting fifth against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday, April 10.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has the favorable handedness in his favor against southpaw Brett Anderson, and hitting in the middle of the lineup is another plus. At his cap hit, Hill is worth a flier in FantasyScore contests Friday.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill starting at hot corner

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 14:21:43 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is starting at third base and batting fifth against the San Francisco Giants Monday, April 6.

Fantasy Tip: In the majority of seasonal formats, it'll only take four more appearances at third base for Hill ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) to add eligibility at the hot corner, which is a nice value boost. For FantasyScore players, a tough matchup against Madison Bumgarner doesn't instill a lot of confidence in slotting Hill into you daily lineups Monday.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill open to being traded

Fri, 03 Apr 2015 21:59:46 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill said he is open to being traded and isn't ready to accept a bench role because he feels he can still contribute as an everyday player.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) could benefit from a change of scenery, but in the meantime, his value at FantasyScore will be limited to the rare days he starts and faces a favorable pitching matchup.

Diamondbacks | A bench role for Aaron Hill

Fri, 03 Apr 2015 14:48:03 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill will not have a starting role to start the season, according to manager Chip Hale.

Fantasy Tip: This is a huge blow to Hill's fantasy value, and he is safe to drop in the majority of leagues. Without everyday at-bats he is viable in only the deepest of mixed leagues and NL-only formats. Reserve Hill ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) for FantasyScore contests when he is in the lineup and facing a favorable pitching matchup.
