Titans | Gregg Williams will have say in scheme

Sat, 09 Feb 2013 09:21:44 -0800

Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray will continue to call plays in 2013; however, senior defensive assistant Gregg Williams will also have his say on how the unit is run. The defense will be "a mix of aggressiveness and a mix of bend-but-don't-break," according to Williams. "That's always been a part of what I'm about anyway. You have to adapt to the situation with what is needed to be effective during that time of the game. Maybe it is bend-but-don't break. Maybe it is pressure. But we've got to do what is best for the players here," Williams said.

Fri, 05 Oct 2012 13:51:32 -0700

Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray is under investigation by the NFL for comments he made when he said his players need to play with reckless abandon and not worry about the consequences. "If you are worrying about that, you are not going to go out and try and blow the guy up," Gray said. "Great football players have to put that out of their mind. You have to say, 'This is my territory between the numbers, and if you throw the football you better bring the Gator truck.' And that's how you have to play. You can't play timid in the NFL."

McGee is seeking to reclaim more than $1 million he says was taken from his accounts without his knowledge or authorization. McGee's lawsuit alleges that through forged documents and unauthorized secret wire transfers, Curry invested a significant amount of McGee's money in property in the Dominican Republic and diverted an additional $600,000 to purchase shares of stock in a non-existent company called Corporate Community Inc. in Austin, Texas. According to McGee's lawyer, J. David Sampson, Bolar recommended McGee use Curry as his financial adviser and Curry used his relationship with Gray to convince McGee to hire him. Sampson added Gray, who currently serves as a defensive backs coach for the Washington Redskins, was named a co-defendant in part because of his "inappropriate involvement" in allegedly trying to talk McGee out of firing Bolar in 2005.
