Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly did not specify which pitchers would be pitching in the opening regular season series in Australia, but he said Wednesday, Feb. 26, that he is preparing four starters to be ready. SPs Zack Greinke, Dan Haren, Clayton Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu are those pitchers. The team is playing two games in Sydney Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23, against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

One of the top priorities for the New York Yankees this offseason will be to secure the rights to Japanese SP Masahiro Tanaka. The Yanks are "going to be bold" in their pursuit of Tanaka, according to sources with knowledge of the team's plans. Executives think the team with the winning bid will have to top $75 million for Tanaka. Tanaka was 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA this year in Japan. The Yankees' posting fee will not count against their luxury-tax figures, making him even more attractive.
