Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez out today

Sat, 16 May 2015 14:25:44 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez is out of the lineup against a left-handed starter Saturday, May 16.

Fantasy Tip: Justin Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is a daily option for a cheap flyer because he's usually in there somewhere. He's hitting .250-1-5 the last week and is worth the 2B flyer for the price on FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez out Saturday

Sat, 09 May 2015 14:33:59 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez is out of the lineup Saturday, May 9, against a left-handed starter.

Fantasy Tip: Justin Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of your cap) is hitting cleanup and is worth the low-end 2B flyer on FantasyScore. He's off to a .314-4-10 start this season.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez hits Kyle Lohse well

Mon, 04 May 2015 14:33:43 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez is batting .385 (10-for-26) with two home runs in his career against Milwaukee Brewers SP Kyle Lohse.

Fantasy Tip: It makes perfect sense to pay up for Gonzalez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) at FantasyScore tonight.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez receiving breather

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 16:55:23 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 28. 2B Justin Turner is starting at first base and hitting third in the batting order against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) hit a home run last night and is 7-for-21 (.333) with two home runs and three RBI in his career against Bumgarner. Still, it's hard to recommend Turner for your FantasyScore lineups unless you're deliberately looking to zag when others zig tonight.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez sitting against lefty

Wed, 22 Apr 2015 15:35:31 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 22. 2B Justin Turner is starting at first base and hitting second in the batting order against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has the benefit of hitting near the top of the Dodgers order, but he's a weak FantasyScore play tonight while facing Bumgarner, even though he's struggled so far in 2015.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez has simple approach

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 10:43:11 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez, who set a franchise record with 19 hits through the first nine games of the season, said he has kept his approach at the plate simple to begin the year. He's now batting a major league-leading .528 and has reached base two or more times in each game this year. "I haven't really been trying to hit home runs in BP. I've just been trying to hit line drives up the middle. I think it's played out, especially when I've been facing lefties, where I've been hitting the ball up the middle, the other way, more than I did last year," Gonzalez said.

Fantasy Tip: While Gonzalez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) likely already reached his fantasy peak in 2015, he could very well be in the beginning of a return to the 30-homer mark if he can stay healthy. You should continue riding him at FantasyScore while he's scorching hot. A matchup against Colorado Rockies starter Kyle Kendrick looks juicy, too.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez blistering hot

Wed, 08 Apr 2015 21:59:39 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez swatted three solo home runs Wednesday, April 8, against the San Diego Padres. He is just the third player in franchise history to homer in his team's first three games, and the first since 1974. His five homers in the first three games sets a major league record.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez posted 10 hits in the three-game set with San Diego, swatting five homers with seven RBIs. He is an obvious must-start in FantasyScore at just $5,600 (or 11.2% of cap) until he starts to cool off.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig to be paired

Thu, 02 Apr 2015 10:52:01 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez and OF Yasiel Puig will be paired in the lineup this year, according to manager Don Mattingly. They will be paired in either the second and third spots or the third and fourth spots in the lineup, and Gonzalez is on board with the idea. "With him, if he gets on base, he creates a threat to the pitcher, the pitcher worries about him a little more, may make more mistakes to me," the first baseman said. "And I'm protecting him a little bit." Gonzalez downplayed the idea that Puig will automatically have increased production hitting in front of him, though.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) and Puig ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) hitting side by side in the lineup won't automatically raise their fantasy value considerably, but it won't hurt in the grand scheme of things. Against James Shields and the San Diego Padres on opening day, both Gonzalez and Puig should be acceptable daily plays at FantasyScore, with Puig obviously being more attractive to owners.
