Orioles | Adam Jones back in action Friday

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 17:40:51 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones (head, neck, wrists) was back in the starting lineup against the Texas Rangers Friday, Aug. 28, after crashing into the outfield wall during the game against the Kansas City Royals Thursday, Aug. 27. Jones was examined by Rangers team doctor Keith Meister prior to the game and he passed all of the exams, including a concussion test, according to manager Buck Showalter.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners can go back to considering Jones ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) as an option for future lineups, provided that he makes it through Friday's game without experiencing any problems.

Orioles | Adam Jones to be evaluated Friday

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 17:13:11 -0700

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter said OF Adam Jones (head, neck, wrists) would be evaluated in Texas Friday, Aug. 28, although he reportedly feels better after crashing into the outfield wall Thursday, Aug. 27, during the first inning of a game against the Kansas City Royals. "I don't think there's any head trauma, concussion-wise," Showalter said.

Fantasy Tip: Although Jones ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is a solid contributor in FantasyScore most nights, owners should avoid using him in his first game back. Don't be surprised if he is held out of Friday's game against the Texas Rangers.

Orioles | Adam Jones hopes to play Friday

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 16:30:56 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones (head, neck, wrists) said he hopes to be able to play Friday, Aug. 28, after leaving the game early Thursday, Aug. 27, because of concussion-like symptoms and neck stiffness. Jones also underwent X-rays on both of his wrists, but those came back negative.

Fantasy Tip: There is a good chance that Jones ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) will sit out a least one game because of his injuries, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Jones is a solid starting option most nights on FantasyScore when he is healthy.

Orioles | Adam Jones rolling in last 11

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 08:40:30 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones is batting .333 with six home runs and 11 RBI in his last 11 games. He faces Minnesota Twins SP Tyler Duffey (1-1, 6.75 ERA) Thursday, Aug. 20, at Camden Yards in Baltimore. Duffey has allowed six earned runs and walked seven in two starts this season.

Fantasy Tip: Jones ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is one of the more expensive offensive players on FantasyScore today. He is on a tear, as are the Orioles as a team, against a struggling rookie at home. The only thing that would make this matchup more appealing is if Duffey was left-handed.

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 12:37:14 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Jones ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) returned for Game 1 of the doubleheader Sunday, June 28, but sat out the night cap. He has the handedness advantage against Rodriguez, but might not be the safest FantasyScore option given the nature of his injury. View Jones as a high-risk, high-reward play Monday.

Orioles | Adam Jones avoids DL for now

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 13:32:34 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones (shoulder), who isn't in the starting lineup again Friday, June 26, will not go on the disabled list unless his shoulder is sore from throwing Saturday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Make plans now in case Jones ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) lands on the DL this weekend. David Lough ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) continues to play center field with Jones out, and he's batting ninth against Cleveland Indians starter Corey Kluber Friday night. Avoid Lough everywhere in daily games.
