Broncos | Peyton Manning may play more seasons

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 11:27:37 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said he feels good physically and does not see the 2015 season as a farewell tour. Manning said the team has been learning head coach Gary Kubiak's offense during offseason workouts.

Fantasy Tip: Manning is close to the end of his career, but he may be able to play a few more seasons before retiring. Manning should still be considered a No. 1 fantasy quarterback in most leagues next season.

Broncos | Peyton Manning at veteran's mini camp

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 17:37:54 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning took part in the first day of veteran's mini camp Tuesday, April 28. Manning wouldn't say whether 2015 would be his last season in the NFL, "I feel good physically, and the whole team, including me, is just excited to get back on the field," Manning said. "We've been here a couple weeks, lifting and meeting, but it's always nice to get back on the football field."

Fantasy Tip: Manning will enter the 2015 fantasy season just outside of the top five quarterbacks. With many of the same weapons as the Broncos had last season - with the exception of TE Julius Thomas and WR Wes Welker - Manning should come close to 40 passing touchdowns yet again.

Broncos | Offense to be catered to Peyton Manning

Sat, 18 Apr 2015 18:07:33 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning won't be forced into a playbook that doesn't suit his gifts, according to head coach Gary Kubiak, and Kubiak added that it has been easy to mix his playbook with the playbook Denver used last season.

Fantasy Tip: Although Manning's lingering health concerns should keep him from being the first quarterback taken in fantasy drafts, he should still be considered a solid QB1 heading into the 2015 season.

Broncos | Peyton Manning to play less in 2015?

Wed, 25 Mar 2015 13:20:47 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning may not play as much as usual next season in order to give him more rest. Head coach Gary Kubiak has indicated that he will tailor the offense to benefit Manning, including running the ball more. Subsequently, QB Brock Osweiler could see more playing time if Manning's playing time is adjusted. Kubiak said he's impressed with how excited Osweiler is and knows he wants to play a part in the Broncos' offense. Kubiak said Osweiler's opportunity to play will come at some point. "I always tell young players nobody knows if you're taking care of your business until you're thrown in the fire."

Fantasy Tip: Manning has been an elite fantasy quarterback almost his entire career and he should still be considered as such. That being said, at age 39, he may not offer as much value as he has in previous seasons, especially with a new offense that will probably see the Broncos run the ball more often. Again, Manning should still be considered a top-tier fantasy quarterback as long as he's healthy.

Broncos | Kubiak not worried about Peyton Manning

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 11:43:56 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning needing extra time this offseason to weigh his future is a non-issue, according to new head coach Gary Kubiak. Kubiak also said he's not worried about how Manning will fit into his offense. "I'd pick Peyton Manning for any offense, I mean, we're going to go do what he does best," Kubiak said. "We're not going to go roll out if that's not something that's a strength of our team. We're going to do what he does best."

Fantasy Tip: Kubiak is intent on not forcing anything on Manning in their first season together. Kubiak's typicaly offenses include plenty of bootleg rollouts, which would be tough for the immobile Manning to pull off. However, the offense will be tailored to Manning's strengths, so fantasy owners shouldn't be all that worried. Manning should be able to produce plenty of QB1 games again in 2015, although he may not be able to replicate the big numbers he put up in 2013 and 2014.

Broncos | Elway not worried about Peyton Manning

Mon, 23 Mar 2015 11:31:52 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is more of an immobile, shotgun-positioned quarterback at his age, but general manager John Elway is unconcerned with how he'll fit into new head coach Gary Kubiak's and offensive coordinator Rick Dennison's plans. "Gary Kubiak's one of the easiest guys to get along with," Elway said. "He's very smart. Plus, Rico is a very smart coach. (Gregg) Knapp is the same (quarterbacks) coach. They're going to get along fine. They'll get a feel for it. We're going to put in what Peyton likes to do offensively with what Gary has always done."

Fantasy Tip: Heading into his age-39 season, it's fair to wonder how much No. 18 has left in his right arm, especially while having to pick up a new system. Still, we expect Manning to post QB1-worthy numbers most weeks, and an improved ground game may make him more efficient at times.

Broncos | Can Peyton Manning play full season?

Thu, 05 Mar 2015 15:23:31 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning would be the second quarterback ever (Brett Favre) to play all 16 games in a season he began at age 39 or older. Manning turns 39 later this month.

Fantasy Tip: Now that Manning is officially returning to Denver, he remains a top-tier quarterback in 2015 drafts, even with TE Julius Thomas likely not returning.

Broncos | Peyton Manning has incentives

Thu, 05 Mar 2015 14:37:28 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning, who restructured his contract to take a $4 million pay cut from $19 million to $15 million in 2015, will have a chance to earn the $4 million back in incentives. He can make $2 million each for AFC Championship and Super Bowl wins.

Fantasy Tip: Now that it's official that Manning will return in 2015, the biggest question becomes how productive can he be in a new offensive scheme under a new head coach and offensive coordinator? It remains to be seen, but the 39-year-old should at least serve as a midrange QB1 for fantasy football owners.

Broncos | Peyton Manning will play in 2015

Thu, 05 Mar 2015 09:32:44 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning officially passed his physical and will return for the 2015 season.

Fantasy Tip: While Manning had a disappointing season in 2014, he is still one of the most consistent options there is at quarterback. He should be considered a top-5 quarterback heading into 2015 drafts.

Broncos | Peyton Manning contract won't affect FA

Wed, 04 Mar 2015 15:40:40 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning's new contract, in which he will take a $4 million pay cut, will not impact the team's approach during free agency.

Fantasy Tip: While Manning wasn't his normal self in the latter part of the 2014 season, he's still one of the most consistent quarterbacks both in real life and in fantasy football. He should be considered at least a top-five quarterback heading into 2015 drafts.

Wed, 04 Mar 2015 15:39:08 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning's new contract in which he takes a $4 million pay cut will not become finalized until he passes his physical, which he is expected to take within 24 hours, according to sources. Other details of the contract are still being finalized.

Fantasy Tip: If/when Manning passes his physical he will officially be returning to the Broncos. While his 2014 season was relatively disappointing, he still remains a top-tier fantasy quarterback option for the 2015 season.

Broncos | Peyton Manning nearing new deal

Wed, 04 Mar 2015 12:19:32 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is close to agreeing to a new contract in which he would take a $4 million pay cut, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Manning will still have the likes of Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and possibly Wes Welker, even if Julius Thomas doesn't return. While he may not be considered the top quarterback option in 2015, he's still a top tier fantasy quarterback.

Broncos | Peyton Manning to have deal revised?

Wed, 25 Feb 2015 18:12:17 -0800

The Denver Broncos and representatives for QB Peyton Manning are working on revising the veteran's contract, according to multiple league sources. He is scheduled to draw a $19 million salary in 2015 and 2016. Manning has informed the team he intends to keep playing, and the Broncos did not formally interview any quarterbacks at the NFL Combine last week.

Fantasy Tip: Manning started out like a ball of fire last season, but he struggled down the stretch a bit. Still, he should be considered a Top 10 fantasy option at his position heading into 2015. If he his skills have diminished somewhat, he is still better than a third of the other starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

Broncos | Peyton Manning still undecided

Wed, 18 Feb 2015 16:17:20 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning remains undecided on whether he'll return for the 2015 season, according to general manager John Elway. Elway met with Manning a week ago, and Manning expressed that he feels fine physically. Everyone is expecting Manning to return, but there hasn't been a definitive announcement from Manning himself.

Fantasy Tip: All signs so far point to Manning returning, minus a verbal confirmation from his own mouth. Assuming he returns, he should have most of his offensive weapons back. However, he'll be running a slightly different offensive system under Gary Kubiak. We believe that Manning should continue to be serviceable at least as a midrange QB1 in one more season.

Broncos | Peyton Manning fits well into system

Tue, 17 Feb 2015 19:01:22 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning has not decided if he will return in 2015 or not. However, he fits well into the offensive system of new head coach Gary Kubiak. He likes the stretch rushing system that features zone blocking and one-cut running. And he likes play-action passes off that running system, and Manning excels as a play-action ball handler.

Fantasy Tip: Manning has a large contract and cap number, and he is getting a little long in the tooth, but he can still be an effective fantasy option despite some decreasing skills. If he comes back, and it is expected, he remains a Top 10 fantasy option at his position.

Broncos | Peyton Manning expected back by HC

Tue, 17 Feb 2015 16:23:20 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is expected to return this season by head coach Gary Kubiak. While Manning hasn't officially made a decision, he has told the team that he feels good enough to play in 2015. Kubiak said he doesn't think there's any hold up with Manning's decision and that Manning and general manager John Elway are working through the process.

Fantasy Tip: Most signs point towards Manning returning this season. The Broncos could rely more on RB C.J. Anderson and the running game next year, but Manning is still comfortably in QB1 territory, assuming he comes back.

Broncos | Questions still surround Peyton Manning

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 11:00:50 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning still has questions lingering in light of the fact that he wants to return in 2015. Among those questions include if he'll run head coach Gary Kubiak's offense and if he'll take a pay cut, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: The bottom line is that if Manning plays and stays healthy he's still good enough to be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback next season.

Broncos | Peyton Manning assures coaches he'll return

Fri, 13 Feb 2015 15:07:13 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning has assured team officials, including general manager John Elway, that he's physically and mentally ready to return for another season, according to league and team sources. Manning had a comprehensive evaluation from performance manager and trainer Mackie Shilstone the past couple of weeks in New Orleans. Shilstone gave Manning a strong assessment based on workouts and tests. The quadriceps injury that Manning dealt with late last year is fully healed.

Fantasy Tip: Despite his age and declining physical abilities, Manning is likely to continue producing QB1 numbers in this offense, at least on a matchup basis. If you decide to draft him in this year's fantasy football drafts, it'd be wise to pair him with a strong backup, though.

Broncos | Peyton Manning could free up $9 million

Fri, 13 Feb 2015 07:16:15 -0800

Updating an earlier report, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning could free up $9.015 million in salary cap space with a simple restructure that doesn't include a pay cut.

Fantasy Tip: Manning would most likely be a top 4-7 quarterback taken in traditional drafts in 2015.

Fri, 13 Feb 2015 05:50:13 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning may be in talks to restructure his contract and help the team keep its key free agents, according to a league source.

Broncos | Peyton Manning meets with John Elway

Thu, 12 Feb 2015 18:23:59 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning met with general manager John Elway Thursday, Feb. 12, but was not ready to make an announcement on whether he will play in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Manning has averaged 43.7 touchdowns in three years with the Broncos, and with a strained quadriceps likely playing a role in his late-season slide, he should still be viewed as one of the top fantasy quarterbacks if he decides to return.

Broncos | Peyton Manning's decision can wait

Tue, 10 Feb 2015 13:54:15 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is being given all the time he needs to make a decision on whether he'll play in 2015, according to offensive coordinator Rick Dennison. Manning has already begun training in New Orleans and plans to meet with general manager John Elway and others before making his decision.

Fantasy Tip: If Manning has already started training, it sounds like he'll want to return for the 2015 season. If/when he does, he'll still be a top-tier fantasy quarterback despite his struggles later on last season.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning wants to speak with general manager John Elway before making an announcement on his intentions for 2015, according to a source. Manning reportedly would like to talk with Elway in the next couple of days.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Manning is leaning towards coming back this season, according to previous reports and the fact that he's training already. Assuming he does return, he remains a top-tier fantasy quarterback.

Broncos | Peyton Manning planning to return

Tue, 10 Feb 2015 11:37:16 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is training in New Orleans with the intent to play next season, according to a source. Manning has already been evaluated and is expected to begin training this week as he prepares for the offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Manning struggled in the latter half of the 2014 season, partially due to the Broncos' increased efforts in the running game with C.J. Anderson and because of Manning's partially torn quadriceps. He's still a top starting fantasy quarterback, assuming he does return for the 2015 season.

Broncos | Von Miller thinks Manning will return

Fri, 06 Feb 2015 09:50:32 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning will return to play in 2015, according to LB Von Miller. "We can win a championship with Peyton. I think that's the only thing that matters," Miller said. "What else can I say? I think he's coming back. He said a long time ago that he would stop playing football when he felt like he was hurting a team more than helping a team. There's still so much he can do, so many wonderful things he can do for the Denver Broncos."

Fantasy Tip: Manning is expected to make a final decision on whether he'll return for one more season soon. If he does return, as is expected, he can still deliver you QB1 numbers in the right matchups. It'll be interesting to see what kind of level of production he can reach in an entirely new offense, though.

Broncos | Peyton Manning's decision to come this week?

Mon, 02 Feb 2015 09:22:59 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning could decide on whether he'll return for another season this week, according to sources. Manning is confident that he'll work well with new head coach Gary Kubiak, who is ready to fit his offensive scheme to Manning's strengths. Manning is set to have his annual checkup on his surgically repaired neck within 10 days of the start of the new league year, which starts March 10.

Fantasy Tip: It seems as though Manning is leaning toward returning for a final season, but nothing is set in stone yet. If he does return, he'll still likely deliver QB1 numbers, but it may not come at the consistent week-to-week level we've become accustomed to with Manning in the past.

Broncos | Peyton Manning not worried about physical

Fri, 30 Jan 2015 10:55:43 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (quadriceps) said he's not worried at all about not passing the physical he's due to take March 1. His $19 million salary for the 2015 season would become guaranteed March 9 if he decides to come back, and he'll have to pass a physical to make sure he's good to go. "I don't see that physical being that significant to tell you the truth as far as that revelation," Manning said. "I feel pretty confident that I would pass that physical and my neck is in good shape."

Fantasy Tip: If Manning doesn't have any worries about his physical status, it sure seems like he'd be willing to return for an 18th season. However, that's still to be determined. If Manning returns, he still has some QB1 value left in him, but it'll be more of a risky proposition than ever before.

Broncos | Peyton Manning not worried about offense

Fri, 30 Jan 2015 10:01:47 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said he feels comfortable in almost any offense "aside from the Delaware Blue Hen Wing T." He said that a change to a new offensive philosophy by head coach Gary Kubiak shouldn't be a problem.

Fantasy Tip: If Manning returns for another season, we doubt that he'd find trouble being productive in a new system if he sets his sights to learning it. However, he's unlikely to continue being an elite QB1 as his physical skills deteriorate, including his arm strength, mainly.

Broncos | Peyton Manning's decision may come soon

Fri, 30 Jan 2015 09:43:49 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning may make a decision on whether he plans to return for another season in the near future, according to his dad, Archie Manning. Archie thinks his son will make his decision "maybe in the next week or two." "He's given a lot of thought to it," Archie Manning said. "My advice for him is to go through the process, get away a little bit, let your leg heal, give it a lot of thought and decide what you're going to do … (I) think he's taken a good evaluation of where he is physically."

Fantasy Tip: If Manning returns for another season, it'll be very interesting to see what kind of offense new head coach Gary Kubiak will run with No. 18 at the helm. Kubiak will no doubt have to tailor his typical west coast offense to Manning's skillset. In 2015 if Manning returns, due to his physical limitations, he can still be a QB1 in the right matchups, but we shouldn't expect insane numbers like he's put up the last three seasons with Denver.

Wed, 21 Jan 2015 07:48:20 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning plans to return in 2015, pending the results of his annual physical, according to three sources The Denver Post's Woody Paige trusts. The test results were learned at the beginning of March last season. The team has requested a decision from him by March 9.

Fantasy Tip: Manning would be a high-to-mid QB1 in traditional leagues next season.

Broncos | Kubiak plans to talk with Peyton Manning

Tue, 20 Jan 2015 14:08:05 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning remains unsure of his future with the team, but head coach Gary Kubiak said he plans to sit down with Manning and talk about their relationship moving forward. Kubiak doesn't think the difference in his offensive style will be a big deal if Manning decides to come back for another year. "Well, it's easy to build a playbook for him," Kubiak said. "I mean, he's been the master at it for many, many years, and you're talking about a Hall of Fame player, Hall of Fame person."

Fantasy Tip: Manning is a big question mark this offseason. If he returns, it'll be interesting to see how he meshes with a new offensive scheme around him. Surely, with his aging physical nature and in a new system, fantasy football drafters will be more cautious in selecting him as a bona fide QB1.

Sun, 18 Jan 2015 06:38:05 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (quadriceps) will not play in the 2015 Pro Bowl because of a quadriceps injury.

Fantasy Tip: Manning's future is in question because there appears to be a chance that he could retire this offseason. Owners should monitor the situation until he decides on his future. He will be a No. 1 quarterback if he decides to play in 2015.

Broncos | DeMarcus Ware thinks Peyton will return

Fri, 16 Jan 2015 11:24:22 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is believed to be leaning toward returning for another season, according to DE DeMarcus Ware. Ware said he has spoken to Manning since the team's divisional round loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and he's confident that Manning will return for another season. "Me and Peyton will always talk back and forth about things. Now he's just looking forward to the next season and how we can get better," Ware said. "I think he'll be back. I feel like he still has a couple years in him."

Fantasy Tip: If Manning returns, he could be running a completely different offense after the team fired John Fox as the head coach. That's something that would likely turn off many fantasy football owners from taking a stab at Manning in his age-39 season. Stay tuned.

Broncos | John Elway wants Peyton Manning back

Tue, 13 Jan 2015 13:41:26 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning will be given time to make up his mind on the future of his playing career, but general manager John Elway would very much like to have him return for the 2015 season and beyond. "Just know how much we want you back, but the thing is for you to take the time and get away from this," Elway said he told Manning. Elway will keep in touch with Manning over the next several weeks, and Manning will be "involved in the process" of finding a new head coach.

Fantasy Tip: Manning's productivity clearly declined rapidly in the second half of the season, but how much of that was related to his torn quadriceps? If he comes back next year, how effective and healthy will he be over a full season? There will be many questions surrounding No. 18 if he returns next year, making him a very shaky QB1 for fantasy football rosters.

Fantasy Tip: It's not known whether it's a Grade 1-2 strain of the muscle, but this report indicates it was not of the Grade 3 variety. Manning should be viewed as one of the last elite QB options, or first midrange options in traditional league drafts if he returns in 2015.

Broncos | Peyton Manning has torn quadriceps

Mon, 12 Jan 2015 08:05:32 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (quadriceps) played Sunday, Jan. 11, and the final month of the season, with a torn right quadriceps muscle, according to two sources.

Fantasy Tip: Manning's throwing velocity and abilities have been questioned in the aftermath of their loss in the AFC divisional-round playoff game. This information might bode well for a return in 2015. If that's the case, he's one of the last elite, or first mid-range QB1 options in traditional league drafts.

Fantasy Tip: Denver's roster is in major flux with Demaryius Thomas a free agent and several potential changes to the coaching staff. Manning's arm strength really seems to have declined. If he returns next season, he'll be at the end of the elite QB1 conversation.

Sun, 11 Jan 2015 18:05:40 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said he will have to take some time to see how he feels before deciding whether or not he plays next season.

Fantasy Tip: Manning certainly looked broken down during the team's divisional round loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and if he decides to call it a career, the fantasy value of every member of the Denver offense would be significantly altered.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning completed 26 of his 46 pass attempts and finished with 211 yards and one touchdown in a 24-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round of the playoffs Sunday, Jan. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Manning looked like a shell of the player that he was just last season, struggling to complete any pass down the field. Add this performance to his struggles in the final weeks of the regular season, and it is fair to question whether his days as an elite quarterback are behind him.

Fri, 09 Jan 2015 14:17:24 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo went a combined 99-for-135 for 1,266 yards, 15 touchdowns and only two interceptions against the Indianapolis Colts this year, and the Colts were 0-4 in those games. Indy also sacked those QBs just twice. "You've got to do a great job of mixing things up," Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said. "There's nothing that (Manning) has not seen. Obviously, we know he's going to do his homework and be prepared as well as any quarterback can be prepared. We just got to do a great job of mixing things up."

Fantasy Tip: That bodes well for Manning ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) for this weekend, but a lot has changed for the Broncos since these two teams met back in Week 1. For one, Manning isn't close to full health, and Denver is much more balanced on offense. If the Broncos can successfully run the ball on Indy, they may not need to rely much on the right arm of Manning.

Broncos | Peyton Manning probable against Colts

Fri, 09 Jan 2015 13:05:27 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (thigh) practiced in full for the third straight day Friday, Jan. 9, and is probable for the divisional round game against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, Jan. 11.

Fantasy Tip: For the second highest cost at FantasyScore this weekend at $8,900 (17.8% of cap), one has to wonder if Manning can even return profit based on the way he's been playing down the stretch. The bye helped him heal up a bit, but the matchup against the Colts should present the Broncos with plenty of opportunities to chew up clock on the ground, too.

Broncos | Peyton Manning's numbers trailing off

Thu, 08 Jan 2015 17:45:26 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning had just one 300-yard passing game over the final six weeks of the season, and he failed to throw a touchdown in two of his final four games.

Fantasy Tip: The decline in Manning's numbers coincided with a rise in C.J. Anderson's numbers, and while a more balanced offense could be better for the Broncos, it is not better for Manning's fantasy value.

Broncos | Peyton Manning practicing in full

Thu, 08 Jan 2015 13:22:25 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (thigh) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Manning ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) definitely appears to have been helped by the team's bye week, but at the second highest FantasyScore price this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts, he may still find it hard to return value, especially if the Broncos continue to pound the ball on the ground.

Broncos | Peyton Manning fully practices

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 14:07:18 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (thigh) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Fantasy Tip: There is no doubt Manning will play this week, but he may be a risky play in FantasyScore with a price of $8,900. The Broncos could run the ball more against the Indianapolis Colts this week.

Broncos | Peyton Manning feels fine physically

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 13:55:54 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (thigh) said he feels fine physically heading into the divisional round game against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, Jan. 11. Manning didn't throw a touchdown pass in two of the team's December games, and he had one four-interception game. He took his usual workload in both of the team's practices this week.

Fantasy Tip: Manning ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) and the Broncos have made a concerted effort to become a much more balanced offense down the stretch, so his drop in production isn't chiefly based on his injury. Regardless, the matchup against the Colts should feature plenty of running for Denver, making it tough for Manning to return value on his hefty FantasyScore price.

Broncos | Peyton Manning struggling in red zone

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 09:46:21 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning completed only 39% of his passes in the red zone over the final five weeks of the season, which ranks 30th in the league among quarterbacks. Manning completed 78% of his passes in the red zone in the first 12 weeks of the season, which was the best in the league.

Fantasy Tip: Manning did throw for less than 250 yards in three of his last five games and only threw five touchdowns in the last five games. Julius Thomas missed several games and was limited when he returned, which likely affected Manning's stats in the red zone. Manning may be a risky play on FantasyScore at $8,900 since the team may consider running the ball more against the Indianapolis Colts.

Broncos | Peyton Manning to have normal workload this week

Tue, 06 Jan 2015 13:18:27 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (thigh) threw in practice Monday, Jan. 5, and he will take his usual workload in practices for the remainder of the week. Manning's thigh injury appears to affect his ability to push off and drive the ball in the team's last two regular season games.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Manning's weaker performances down the stretch as the Broncos moved to more of a running team on offense, he's still the second most expensive player at FantasyScore this weekend at $8,900 (17.8% of cap). The Indianapolis Colts present another excellent opportunity to run and control the clock, too, so Manning's price might be too expensive for our taste.
