Angels | David DeJesus leading off vs. Cleveland

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 15:27:59 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF David DeJesus is playing left field and leading off against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber Monday, Aug. 3.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) would usually receive a glowing endorsement setting the table for the Los Angeles lineup, but Kluber ($8,800, 17.6% of cap) presents a daunting matchup. View DeJesus as a high-risk, high-reward FantasyScore option Monday.

Angels | David DeJesus out of Sunday lineup

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 12:02:48 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF David DeJesus is not in the lineup Sunday, Aug. 2, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. OF David Murphy is in left field.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) projects as a platoon outfielder, but the absence of a DH most likely played a role in this. Because the game is at Dodger Stadium, pitcher Cory Rasmus is in the bottom spot. DeJesus should be back in a day or two, but keep an eye on his playing time.

Angels | David DeJesus starting in left field

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 10:38:26 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF David DeJesus is batting seventh and playing left field against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw Saturday, Aug. 1.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is batting .338 during day games this year but is only 1-for-8 against lefties and has never faced Kershaw in his career. Avoid using him in FantasyScore this afternoon.

Angels | David DeJesus leading off in debut

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:27:08 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF David DeJesus is starting in center field and hitting leadoff in his debut with the team against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Wednesday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) could become the team's regular leadoff hitter against right-handed pitching, although he's likely to play left field mainly. His fantasy value doesn't change all that much with the move to the American League West. Play him as you normally would on FantasyScore.

Angels | Matt Joyce's time with Angels done?

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:27:49 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Matt Joyce (concussion), who is currently on the seven-day concussion disabled list, might not have a spot on the team anymore after the Angels traded for OFs Shane Victorino, David Murphy and David DeJesus in the last two days. Joyce was hitting .178 with five home runs and 21 RBI as the team's left fielder. General manager Bill Stoneman made no announcements on Joyce's future. Joyce was in an 0-for-23 slump and is hitless since July 9. Stoneman is hesitant to part with any of the team's top prospects, such as SP Sean Newcomb, in order to further improve the outfield.

Fantasy Tip: If you were holding onto Joyce ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) in a deep AL-only league, it's probably time to cut him. Victorino, Murphy and DeJesus could all see consistent playing time in platoon roles in left field and at designated hitter, but it could be a frustrating situation for fantasy owners to tread through.

Rays | Eduar Lopez comes in for David Dejesus

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:16:21 -0700

The Tampa Bay Rays acquired RHP Eduar Lopez from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tuesday, July 28, in exchange for OF David DeJesus.

Fantasy Tip: Lopez is several years away from appearing in the major leagues, but both Brandon Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) and Joey Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should receive more playing time with DeJesus gone from the crowded Rays' outfield. Both Guyer and Butler can occasionally be used on FantasyScore when facing a left-handed pitcher.

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:11:08 -0700

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim acquired OF David DeJesus from the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday, July 28. Tampa Bay will receive RHP Eduar Lopez in return.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is a serviceable platoon option against right-handed pitching. He'll likely split his time with Shane Victorino in left field.

Rays | David DeJesus resting

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:25:52 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the lineup against Detroit Tigers left-handed SP David Price Tuesday, July 28. OF Brandon Guyer is starting in left field and hitting leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is in a favorable lineup spot but doesn't have much offensive upside, and he's stuck in a tough matchup against Price. He's one to avoid for your daily lineups.

Rays | David DeJesus out of the lineup

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 07:24:24 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey Saturday, July 18. OF Joey Butler will start in left field and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and will return soon. Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has recorded only three hits in his last 13 games and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Tampa Bay Rays INF/OF Jake Elmore is batting eighth and playing left field against Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel Saturday, July 11. OF David DeJesus is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitless in three career at-bats against Keuchel and only has one hit in his last 19 at-bats entering the game. Avoid using him today in FantasyScore.
