Rays | David DeJesus has owned Kazmir

Fri, 22 May 2015 10:34:02 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is 8-for-21 (.381) with two doubles and three RBI in his career against Oakland Athletics SP Scott Kazmir, who he faces Friday, May 22.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has been hitting well this year (.324-4-18) and is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak that has seen him go 10-for-25 (.400) with two home runs and five RBI. While he's going well, he is a fine FantasyScore play, and he could be a contrarian play tonight against the lefty Kazmir as a sleeper.

Rays | David DeJesus continues solid season

Thu, 21 May 2015 20:06:07 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and a run scored in a 3-0 win over the Oakland Athletics Thursday, May 21, raising his average to .324 on the year.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is usually only in the lineup against right-handed pitchers, but he has been doing some damage as a platoon player. When he does start, he is worth a look as a cheaper outfield option at FantasyScore.

Rays | Tampa shakes up lineup

Mon, 04 May 2015 15:41:33 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays SS Asdrubal Cabrera, who is hitless in his last 14 at-bats, was dropped from third to seventh in the batting order Monday, May 4. OF David DeJesus, who is 0-for-17 lately, was dropped to fifth in the lineup. 1B James Loney has moved to the third spot.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) and DeJesus ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should be looked at as weaker FantasyScore plays tonight, even against a right-handed pitcher. Loney ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is a midrange first base play tonight while seeing a bump into the heart of the batting order.

Rays | Desmond Jennings remains out

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 13:09:48 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF Desmond Jennings (knee) remains out of the starting lineup Tuesday, April 28. OF David DeJesus is starting in left field and hitting leadoff against New York Yankees SP Chase Whitley.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has quietly hit .342 (13-for-38) with one home run and eight RBI for the Rays atop their lineup. He gives FantasyScore users a leadoff bat with extra at-bats, but he doesn't do a lot across the board to fill up the stat sheet. He's a middling outfield target for daily lineups, although he does have a good matchup tonight against Whitley.

Rays | David DeJesus, Allan Dykstra in lineup

Wed, 08 Apr 2015 14:23:08 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus and 1B Allan Dykstra are both in the starting lineup versus Baltimore Orioles SP Miguel Gonzalez Wednesday, April 8. DeJesus is leading off and serving as the designated hitter, while Dykstra is at first base and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is dirt cheap at FantasyScore, but he hit only .251 last year against righties in 231 at-bats. Dykstra, who is making his major league debut, has plenty of home run upside, but he won't be available at FantasyScore.
