Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) said he has been medically cleared to practice. He's expected to be limited, though, especially in the near future.
Fantasy Tip: Wayne's recovery will dictate how effective he can be early in the year. Keep him in mind as a WR4 that, with proper healing, could return to every-week lineup consideration as 2014 wears on. His presence will affect the target loads for rebound candidates WR Hakeem Nicks and TE Dwayne Allen (hip).

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) can still play, get open and make a catch, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Pagano said it will be great to have Wayne back (from injury) not only because of his on-field ability but because of the leadership he brings to the locker room.
Fantasy Tip: The boat has sailed on the prime of Wayne's career and the Colts wide receiver corps is stacked with WRs T.Y. Hilton, Hakeem Nicks, Da'Rick Rogers and rookie Donte Moncrief all in the mix. Wayne should be considered a WR4 or flex option in standard leagues.

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) feels like he's 100 percent healthy after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last season. His most recent visit with Dr. John Uribe showed no fluid in his surgically repaired knee. Wayne has been running routes at the team's facility. "I feel like I have nothing to prove to anybody," Wayne said. "I know what I can do. Guys in this locker room know what I can do. Now it's time to show the first-timers who have not seen me play, the ones that keep calling me Mr. Wayne, ones that say they played with me on 'Madden.' There's no reason why I shouldn't be ready (for training camp) in July."
Fantasy Tip: Wayne has always been a productive player when he's been on the field. However, he's entering his age-36 season, and Andrew Luck has plenty of other receiving weapons to go to. Even if he proves his doubters wrong by coming back fully healthy, he'll have to compete for targets with budding superstar T.Y. Hilton and offseason addition Hakeem Nicks. Wayne's PPR value will likely take a significant hit, and all things considered, he's probably safest as a WR4.
Thu, 19 Jun 2014 12:15:56 -0700
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) recently said he has no problems with his surgically repaired right knee. He added that he's waiting until he's told he can suit up and "be a normal football player." Wayne did not participate in the team's mandatory minicamp, as expected, and head coach Chuck Pagano said he may be held out for the early part of training camp in July.
Fantasy Tip: Even though Wayne is coming off a serious injury, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt, because he's always been productive when healthy. But the Colts have plenty of other options in the passing game besides Wayne. He could be a solid WR3, but pegging him for WR4 numbers is probably more realistic right now.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said he would be shocked if WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is not ready to go by the start of training camp.

Thu, 29 May 2014 11:18:44 -0700
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is not participating in practice Thursday, May 29.
Fantasy Tip: Wayne was not expected to get much work in during the offseason program, so this is not really a surprise. The goal is to be ready for training camp. We should have a better idea where the Colts wide receiver is in his recovery when teams report for training camp later in the summer.
Mon, 26 May 2014 11:05:30 -0700

Fri, 09 May 2014 19:48:45 -0700
The Indianapolis Colts selected Mississippi WR Donte Moncrief with the 90th overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: He's sort of a handcuff/heir apparent to injury-prone vet Hakeem Nicks. At 6-foot-2, 221 pounds, Moncrief could step in with big-play ability. He's someone to watch inseason during 2014 and for the long term, with Reggie Wayne (knee) not having much time left on the field.
Tue, 08 Apr 2014 16:33:11 -0700
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is expected to be cleared for football activities April 25 after he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in Week 7 last season. "I feel good, I'm ahead of schedule," Wayne said. "I'm at the point where I'm tired of doing the same rehab stuff, to be honest with you. I'm excited to get back to football activities. I feel good." Wayne wants to participate in the team's minicamp, but he'll be held out as a precaution.
Fantasy Tip: Wayne will be heading into his age-36 season. At that age and coming off a serious knee injury, you'd expect Wayne's production to drop considerably, especially with Hakeem Nicks and T.Y. Hilton around to take catches away from him. Wayne's days of serving as a WR1 or 2 are over.
Fri, 21 Feb 2014 18:45:43 -0800
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is making progress in his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and should be ready to participate no later than training camp.

Mon, 13 Jan 2014 14:41:38 -0800

Fri, 01 Nov 2013 20:16:21 -0700
One NFL personnel executive said Friday, Nov. 1, that he "would expect a heightened feature (role) of (TE Coby Fleener)" with WR Reggie Wayne (knee) out for the season.
Fantasy Tip: Fleener is still only considered a Top 20 fantasy option at his position until he steps up and does a little more. The Colts will be facing the No. 1 defense of the Houston Texans in Week 9, so it will be a tall order for Fleener to step up his production Sunday.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 19:23:44 -0700
One NFL personnel executive said Friday, Nov. 1, that he expects WR T.Y. Hilton to take on a "front line, prominent role" following the loss of WR Reggie Wayne (knee).
Fantasy Tip: Hilton should still be considered more of a WR3/4 fantasy option heading into Week 9, especially since the Houston Texans rank first in the NFL in defense.
Mon, 28 Oct 2013 19:37:45 -0700
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is uncertain who will step up as the team's No. 3 wide receiver behind WRs Darrius Heyward-Bey and T.Y. Hilton with WR Reggie Wayne (knee) done for the season. WRs LaVon Brazill and Griff Whalen are expected to battle for the job.
Fantasy Tip: The winner of the No. 3 battle is still not a recommended fantasy option at this point. Brazill has speed to burn, and seems like he should be the favorite, but unless Heyward-Bey or Hilton also go down, don't waste the roster spot.
Mon, 28 Oct 2013 19:15:22 -0700
Indianapolis Colts WR Darrius Heyward-Bey is expected to step up and produce, as he is technically the team's No. 1 wide receiver following the season-ending injury to WR Reggie Wayne (knee).
Fantasy Tip: Heyward-Bey has managed just 18 catches for 190 yards so far this season, and despite his projected spot on the team's depth chart following the Wayne injury, he should still be viewed as nothing more than a WR3/4 or flex fantasy play in most leagues.

Mon, 21 Oct 2013 05:35:51 -0700
Updating previous reports, the Indianapolis Colts fear WR Reggie Wayne (knee) tore his anterior cruciate ligament.
Fantasy Tip: This would be bad news for Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton. Darrius Heyward-Bey would have to step up into a featured role, which he has failed to succeed in during his career. Wayne turns 35 next month, and this injury could seal his days as a fantasy factor.

Tue, 30 Jul 2013 09:01:04 -0700
Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill admitted he made a mistake in the offseason, and he now has a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy to start the season as a result. Brazill said he needs to decide between "money and marijuana." That isn't his only battle. He is also vying for the fourth receiver spot behind WRs Reggie Wayne, Darrius Heyward-Bey and T.Y. Hilton, so his roster spot isn't necessarily a given.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners will want to avoid Brazill to start the season, even if he wins the No. 4 job, due to his four-game suspension. He has big-play ability, but with plenty of depth at the position, it will likely take an injury or two to open up a more prominent role for the former Ohio Bobcat.
Thu, 06 Jun 2013 09:15:27 -0700
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne reported to organized team activities Wednesday, June 5, to learn the team's new offensive with a brand new offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton. "It has been a challenge, but I'm getting it done. It's a little new to me still, but it's cool," Wayne said. Wayne plans to attend the team's mandatory minicamp next week and then head back to Miami where he'll work out until training camp in July.
Fantasy Tip: Wayne is a veteran and should be fine learning a new West Coast offense this late in his career, especially when he has a quarterback with the skills that Andrew Luck possesses. He'll undoubtedly be the top target in the aerial attack and should be more valuable as a No. 2 wideout in point-per-reception affairs.

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne said he is motivated by the thought of recording a 1,000-yard campaign as a 35-year-old in 2013.
