Colts | Frank Gore returns to practice

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 15:17:38 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) returned to practice and got in a full session Thursday, Dec. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Gore always sits out practice on Wednesdays before returning on Thursdays, so this is just the norm for the 12-year veteran. He's coming off a solid 79-yard effort -- his most rushing yards since Week 6 -- and can be slotted into his usual RB2 position this weekend.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Wed, 07 Dec 2016 14:39:19 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has received at least 15 carries in six of the last seven games and will continue to be a main part of the offense. He has rushed for only four touchdowns this season but can still be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option because owners know what to expect from Gore.

Colts | Frank Gore runs for 79 yards

Mon, 05 Dec 2016 21:17:46 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 20 times for 79 yards in the Week 13 game against the New York Jets Monday, Dec. 5. He did not have any catches on one target. Gore moved past Tony Dorsett for eighth all-time on the NFL's rushing yardage list.

Fantasy Tip: Gore's yardage total was his best since a 106-yard performance in Houston Oct. 16, his only triple-digit yardage game of the season. He'll face those same Texans next weekend in Indianapolis. He remains a decent low-end RB2 in all fantasy leagues.

Colts | No room for Frank Gore

Thu, 24 Nov 2016 21:26:41 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore finished with 15 carries for 28 yards and one catch for three yards in a 28-7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday, Nov. 24.

Fantasy Tip: The Steelers focused on stopping the run with Andrew Luck sidelined, and Gore was surprisingly uninvolved in the passing game. Once Luck returns to the lineup, Gore should go back to posting RB2 numbers.

Colts | Frank Gore feeling fresh

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 18:56:09 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore said he feels fresh coming out of the bye week, and offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski said Gore is playing as well as he has since joining the team.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is on pace for 1,000 yards as the lead back for the Colts, and he should remain a solid RB2 against the Titans in Week 11.

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 13:32:42 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been a pretty consistent option for fantasy owners this season and will continue to receive a majority of the carries. He should be a fine No. 2 running back or a flex option in all fantasy leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 13:44:39 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will be fine for Week 11 and will continue to receive most of the carries for the Colts. He was held to 60 yards rushing in the last game but did score two touchdowns and has been involved in the passing game over the last few weeks. He should be a fine No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore into end zone twice

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 21:02:12 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 19 times for 60 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the Week 9 game against the Green Bay Packers. He added two grabs for 11 yards on his only two targets.

Fantasy Tip: Gore had his first multi-TD game since Dec. 27, 2015 in Miami. He is 33, and on the downside of his career, but still getting it done for fantasy owners. The Colts are off in Week 10.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will continue to receive most of the carries in the running game and has received at least 13 carries in all but one game this season. He should be considered a solid No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore back at it

Thu, 03 Nov 2016 13:34:21 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 3.

Fantasy Tip: The game script with the Green Bay Packers just doesn't bode well for Gore. He's facing one of the most stingy run defenses in the league and the Colts could very well be forced to pass a bunch in order to keep up with Green Bay. That being said, Gore is still an RB2 option with all the byes in Week 9.

Colts | Frank Gore rests Wednesday

Wed, 02 Nov 2016 13:30:37 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) took a day off of practice Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is healthy. He simply had his regular day off. The Colts will probably be focused on the passing game against the Green Bay Packers this week since the Packers are stingy against the run. He should still be in starting lineups, though, especially considering all the byes in Week 9.

Fri, 28 Oct 2016 16:38:50 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been a consistent performer for fantasy owners this season but has not found the end zone in the last three games. He should be considered a No. 2 running back in all leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore full go

Thu, 27 Oct 2016 13:45:35 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) returned to a full practice Thursday, Oct. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Gore should be well rested for this weekend's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are yielding over 100 rushing yards per game to running backs so far this year, making Gore a viable RB2 candidate this weekend.

Colts | Frank Gore sits out practice

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 13:27:42 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: It's a normal day off for the veteran Gore. He will start like he usually does, but it's against a tougher rush defense in the Tennessee Titans. That being said, Gore is a high-end RB2 option for Week 8.

Colts | Frank Gore leads IND running attack

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 14:56:28 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore had 61 yards rushing Sunday, Oct. 23, in a 34-26 win over the Tennessee Titans. Gore also had 22 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: The fact Gore couldn't get untracked against the Titans, save for the one receiving score, should give some fantasy owners cause for concern near the halfway point. You may want to look elsewhere.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 21, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is coming off his first 100-yard game of the season and has been a consistent option for fantasy owners. He should be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore a full participant

Thu, 20 Oct 2016 15:23:47 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) participated fully in practice Thursday, Oct. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is still chugging along at 33 years old, but the Tennessee Titans have been stingy against the run this season. Fortunately for Gore he's healthy and Indy's primary running back. He's worthy of RB2 consideration.

Colts | Frank Gore rests Wednesday

Wed, 19 Oct 2016 14:35:40 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: The day of rest isn't unusual for a grinding veteran like Gore. He'll be on the field this weekend, but the Tennessee Titans have only yielded 77 rushing yards per game and three touchdowns to running backs this year. Gore shouldn't necessarily be benched, but he's more of a flex option at best for Week 7.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Wed, 12 Oct 2016 13:28:10 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is receiving a day off and should be fine to play in Week 6 against the Houston Texans. He has not posted great numbers this season but should be a fine No. 2 running back or flex option in all fantasy leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore has quality game

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 20:23:26 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 14 times for 75 yards in the Week 5 game against the Chicago Bears and he added one reception for four yards on two targets.

Fantasy Tip: Gore had his three-game touchdown streak snapped, but he still posted a decent rushing yardage total. He remains a decent RB2 in most fantasy formats heading into Week 6 at Houston.

Fri, 07 Oct 2016 14:45:13 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (chest) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has not posted great numbers so far this season but will continue to receive most of the carries as long as he is healthy. He should continue to be a solid No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore set to make history Week 5

Fri, 07 Oct 2016 13:13:24 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore will pass NFL legend and Hall of Famer Jim Brown (12,312) for sole possession of ninth place on the league's all-time rushing list with 20 more yards in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: It's a testament to his strength, fortitude and consistency. It's all the more impressive considering how often he was hurt early in his career and how many bad San Francisco 49er teams he played for over that same time. No. 8 rusher Tony Dorsett (12,739) is also well within his sights this year as well. Even behind a shaky offensive line, Gore is a solid RB2 who hasn't missed a game since 2010.

Colts | Frank Gore fully practices

Thu, 06 Oct 2016 14:15:40 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (chest) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Gore went from no practice to full practice in a span of a day, so he should be taking the field on Sunday. The Chicago Bears, his Week 5 opponent, have surrendered an average of just over 100 yards and one rushing touchdown per game to running backs. Gore is a feasible RB2 play this week.

Colts | Frank Gore misses practice

Wed, 05 Oct 2016 13:07:20 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (chest) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should keep an eye on the situation to see if Gore is in any danger of missing the team's Week 5 game. Gore will receive most of the work at running back if he is active for the game and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore finds end zone

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 10:16:52 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Gore recorded a rushing touchdown for the second straight game but has not rushed for more than 82 yards in a game this season. He will continue to receive most of the work at running back but should only be considered a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option in leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore practices Thursday

Thu, 29 Sep 2016 12:47:34 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will continue to receive most of the carries for the Colts as long as he can stay healthy. He has posted decent numbers through the first three weeks of the season and should be considered a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore given day off

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 13:52:27 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non injury) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Gore also received the Wednesday practice off last week, so expect this to become routine for the 33-year-old veteran. Gore has now scored touchdowns in consecutive games, and he had 21 rushing attempts in Week 3. However, he still sports a mediocre 3.9 yards per carry while defying age concerns. View Gore as a low-end RB2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4.

Colts | Frank Gore fully practices

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 14:58:50 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is fine after a day of rest. The Chargers are in the top ten so far this year in fantasy points allowed to running backs, including PPR scoring. While Gore is over the hill, he has maintained good health and deserves at least a flex start in all formats.

Colts | Day off for Frank Gore

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 13:38:31 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non injury) was given the day off practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: At 33, Gore will likely receive the odd practice off to keep him as fresh as possible. Through his first 18 games with the Colts, Gore has averaged just 3.7 yards per tote and his fantasy value is dependent on finding the end zone. He's a low-end RB2 while healthy, but he's also at 2,729 career carries and counting.

Colts | Robert Turbin to spell Frank Gore?

Thu, 25 Aug 2016 18:33:17 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Robert Turbin will likely serve as the backup to RB Frank Gore, according to beat writer Stephen Holder.

Fantasy Tip: Josh Ferguson is still worth a flier in keeper leagues, but Turbin is the back to grab in the later rounds as a handcuff to Gore.

Colts | Frank Gore expected to play Saturday

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 06:17:18 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore is expected to receive some playing time during the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, Aug. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Gore wanted to play during the preseason but likely will receive limited carries during the game. He will receive most of the work at running back this season and has been one of the more durable backs in the NFL over the last several seasons. He should be considered a low-end No. 2 running back in a majority of leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore wants to play in preseason

Mon, 15 Aug 2016 15:44:45 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore said he would like to receive some carries during the preseason so he can take a hit. "You want to get out there and get hit," Gore said. "Maybe you'll break one. You never know. I really just want to get hit and go to the ground."

Fantasy Tip: Gore likely will receive a lot of work this season even though he is 33 years old. He has rushed for at least 1,000 yards in eight of his last 10 season and should be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in all fantasy leagues.

Colts | Backup running back unclear in Indy

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 14:40:10 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore is the unquestioned starter for the Colts, but his backup remains to be seen. ESPN.com's Mike Wells did mention RB Josh Ferguson first for the position, however.

Fantasy Tip: Ferguson has plenty of upside and would make for a nice complement to Gore. He has yet to prove himself, but taking him in the late middle rounds isn't a bad strategy with the potential he has.

Colts | Fewer touches for Frank Gore?

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 14:32:36 -0700

The Indianapolis Colts want RB Frank Gore to have a lightened workload in 2016, according to ESPN.com's Mike Wells.

Fantasy Tip: This should have been anticipated as Gore is 33 years old and entering his 12th NFL season. If he can stay healthy he should still be in contention for 1,000 rushing yards and at least a handful of scores. Drafting him as an RB3 would be ideal.

Colts | Frank Gore still motivated

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 11:21:31 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore uses critics to stay motivated at 33 years old. "When I hear it, that's when I attack my training," Gore said. "When I'm tired, I tell myself what the people are saying about me." Gore works out twice a day, adding football-specific field work to his usual workout involving speed, agility and strength training. Gore said working out more makes his mind stronger heading into training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Not many running backs succeed at Gore's age, but something has to be said for his work ethic, determination and sustainability. If he can stay healthy, Gore is capable of achieving low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 numbers.

Colts | Healthy teammates to help Frank Gore

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 18:40:19 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore's yards per carry fell from 4.1 to 3.5 when QB Andrew Luck was out of the lineup, and he averaged just 2.7 yards per carry in the three games OT Anthony Castonzo missed.

Fantasy Tip: He fell just short of 1,000 yards last season, and a healthy Luck could pay big dividends for the Gore. His age is a red flag, but Gore is still worth a look as a RB3 as the clear starter in Indianapolis.

Colts | Frank Gore training hard

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 18:11:17 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore said he hears the naysayers who question if he can produce at his age, and he uses the doubters as motivation to "attack" his training. "I try to do two workouts three times a week," Gore said. "(In the second workouts), I do more agility, jump cuts, moves, working my feet in small spaces. Just trying to imitate like when I'm in the hole."

Fantasy Tip: The last time a running back Gore's age or older rushed for 1,000 yards was in 1984, so the odds aren't in his favor. A healthy Andrew Luck should help free up Gore and the running game, but don't count on him being more than a RB3 in 2016.

Colts | Frank Gore wants 1,000 yards

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 12:10:20 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore is eyeing the 1,000-yard mark in 2016 at 33 years old. Gore is more determined this year after just missing 1,000 rushing yards last season at 967 yards. "I just have to start taking care of my body, eating healthy, start training to get myself ready and to try to go get it," Gore said.

Fantasy Tip: Intentions and goals are all well and good, but history has not been kind to starting running backs at Gore's age. If he can play a full season, he'll have a chance, but he should still be drafted as an RB3.

Colts | Frank Gore expected back

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 07:02:31 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore is expected to return to the Colts as their primary back in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Gore had little to work with in 2015 behind that offensive line, and he'll be 33. So while his best days are behind him, he could remain a productive back if the team shores up the line. He could come at a value as an RB3 in drafts next season.

Colts | Frank Gore to have surgery

Mon, 04 Jan 2016 13:47:19 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (finger) will undergo surgery on a broken finger on his left hand.

Fantasy Tip: Gore should hold his head up high for the statistics he put up despite the beating he took this year at 32 years old. Gore was probably one of the main focuses of opposing defenses this year with Andrew Luck injured. Gore's 1,200+ total yards and seven total touchdowns were good enough for RB1 status in standard scoring leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore rushes for 76 yards

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 14:51:42 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore had 19 carries for 76 yards and no touchdowns in a 30-24 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Gore missed out on a chance to become the team's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2007, but he did energize a formerly staid running game. He is signed for two more seasons, and Gore figures to be the lead back going into 2016. He will likely be drafted towards the middle rounds in fantasy leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore has chance at 1,000 yards

Sat, 02 Jan 2016 05:52:45 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore needs 109 yards in the Week 17 game against the Tennessee Titans to become the first Colts running back since 2007 to record 1,000 yards in a season. Gore's season high in rushing yards is 98 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is coming off a two-touchdown performance in Week 16 but has rushed for more than 60 yards in only two of the last six games. He will be facing a tough Titans run defense and is not a great option for fantasy owners.

Colts | Frank Gore strong on ground

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 14:54:52 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 15 times for 85 yards and scored two touchdowns Sunday, Dec. 27, in an 18-12 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) may get more action next week if the Colts need his feet to do the talking. With Charlie Whitehurst likely starting at QB, the ground game may get more of a workout. If the Colts are eliminated, then Gore could see his minutes limited in a meaningless game. Stay tuned.

Colts | Frank Gore slowed Sunday

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 14:53:08 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 16 times for 60 yards Sunday, Dec. 13, in a 51-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) wasn't helped by the inconsistent Colts offense, which was off the field more often than not in the second half. You may want to hold off on using the Colts running game until it can find ways to be more consistent.

Colts | Frank Gore hurting

Mon, 30 Nov 2015 14:22:05 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore took some shots against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12 and is pretty beat up, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has endured more than his fair share of hits over the course of his career, and this season is no different. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Gore's Week 13 opponent, have been tremendous defensively against the run this year, allowing only three rushing touchdowns in 11 games. There are better options than Gore at running back this week.

Colts | Frank Gore fading

Mon, 30 Nov 2015 09:58:29 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore has averaged only 2.5 yards per carry on 83 rushes in the last month.

Fantasy Tip: The 32-year-old workhorse back is showing his age at this point in the season, and he faces an unfriendly matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday night. It'd probably be wise to fade him in this one until we see more production from him.

Colts | Frank Gore, Andre Johnson probable

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 12:01:40 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (ankle) and WR Andre Johnson (non-injury) are listed as probable for Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: The Bucs have been solid against the run this year, allowing just four rushing touchdowns in ten games, so Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is a risky start on FantasyScore this week. Johnson ($3,000, 6.0%) has been much too inconsistent to be rostered, either, so look elsewhere.

Colts | Frank Gore takes part in practice

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 13:27:51 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) should see his normal workload this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has posted decent numbers in the last few games but may not be the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Colts | Frank Gore idle Wednesday

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 08:41:10 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (knee) is out of practice Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: It's being classified as a rest day, but he had a minor knee issue in the Week 11 game. Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) matches up against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that has been stingy to running backs the last five weeks. He's a flex option on FantasyScore, but there is more upside elsewhere.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (knee) said he banged up his knee in the Week 11 game against the Atlanta Falcons, but he expects to be fine.
