Colts | Frank Gore to have surgery

Mon, 04 Jan 2016 13:47:19 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (finger) will undergo surgery on a broken finger on his left hand.

Fantasy Tip: Gore should hold his head up high for the statistics he put up despite the beating he took this year at 32 years old. Gore was probably one of the main focuses of opposing defenses this year with Andrew Luck injured. Gore's 1,200+ total yards and seven total touchdowns were good enough for RB1 status in standard scoring leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore rushes for 76 yards

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 14:51:42 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore had 19 carries for 76 yards and no touchdowns in a 30-24 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Gore missed out on a chance to become the team's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2007, but he did energize a formerly staid running game. He is signed for two more seasons, and Gore figures to be the lead back going into 2016. He will likely be drafted towards the middle rounds in fantasy leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore has chance at 1,000 yards

Sat, 02 Jan 2016 05:52:45 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore needs 109 yards in the Week 17 game against the Tennessee Titans to become the first Colts running back since 2007 to record 1,000 yards in a season. Gore's season high in rushing yards is 98 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is coming off a two-touchdown performance in Week 16 but has rushed for more than 60 yards in only two of the last six games. He will be facing a tough Titans run defense and is not a great option for fantasy owners.

Colts | Frank Gore strong on ground

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 14:54:52 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 15 times for 85 yards and scored two touchdowns Sunday, Dec. 27, in an 18-12 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) may get more action next week if the Colts need his feet to do the talking. With Charlie Whitehurst likely starting at QB, the ground game may get more of a workout. If the Colts are eliminated, then Gore could see his minutes limited in a meaningless game. Stay tuned.

Colts | Frank Gore slowed Sunday

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 14:53:08 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 16 times for 60 yards Sunday, Dec. 13, in a 51-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) wasn't helped by the inconsistent Colts offense, which was off the field more often than not in the second half. You may want to hold off on using the Colts running game until it can find ways to be more consistent.

Colts | Frank Gore hurting

Mon, 30 Nov 2015 14:22:05 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore took some shots against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12 and is pretty beat up, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has endured more than his fair share of hits over the course of his career, and this season is no different. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Gore's Week 13 opponent, have been tremendous defensively against the run this year, allowing only three rushing touchdowns in 11 games. There are better options than Gore at running back this week.

Colts | Frank Gore fading

Mon, 30 Nov 2015 09:58:29 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore has averaged only 2.5 yards per carry on 83 rushes in the last month.

Fantasy Tip: The 32-year-old workhorse back is showing his age at this point in the season, and he faces an unfriendly matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday night. It'd probably be wise to fade him in this one until we see more production from him.

Colts | Frank Gore, Andre Johnson probable

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 12:01:40 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (ankle) and WR Andre Johnson (non-injury) are listed as probable for Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: The Bucs have been solid against the run this year, allowing just four rushing touchdowns in ten games, so Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is a risky start on FantasyScore this week. Johnson ($3,000, 6.0%) has been much too inconsistent to be rostered, either, so look elsewhere.

Colts | Frank Gore takes part in practice

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 13:27:51 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) should see his normal workload this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has posted decent numbers in the last few games but may not be the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Colts | Frank Gore idle Wednesday

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 08:41:10 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (knee) is out of practice Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: It's being classified as a rest day, but he had a minor knee issue in the Week 11 game. Gore ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) matches up against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that has been stingy to running backs the last five weeks. He's a flex option on FantasyScore, but there is more upside elsewhere.

Colts | Frank Gore expects to be fine

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 20:26:30 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (knee) said he banged up his knee in the Week 11 game against the Atlanta Falcons, but he expects to be fine.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is likely to be on the injury report heading into Week 12, but it generally takes a major injury to keep him from game action.

Colts | Frank Gore a double threat vs. ATL

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 14:57:02 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore had 34 yards rushing on 14 carries and caught five passes for 46 yards in a 24-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) may have lost some goal-line carries to Ahmad Bradshaw, and it appears that the Colts may have a committee approach going here. It may be worth staying away.

Colts | Frank Gore to be unleashed?

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 07:56:13 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore has had restrictions on his workload thus far, but the Colts have given indications that they could unleash Gore with QB Andrew Luck (kidney) out. "If he's rolling like that," head coach Chuck Pagano said, "and we're staying balanced and he feels good, we're going to do what we have to do to win the ball game."

Gore had 28 carries in Week 10 and said he felt fine because he hasn't taken many square hits. RB Ahmad Bradshaw has been working as the third-down back and given the team good pass protection and reliable hands as a receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has a tough matchup against the Atlanta Falcons this week. The possibly increased workload is nice, but the matchup makes him an iffy flex option on FantasyScore.

Colts | Frank Gore has another solid game

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 19:25:53 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 28 times for 83 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos. He added one receptions for 19 yards and was targeted three times.

Fantasy Tip: The 102 total yards from scrimmage was nice for Gore's ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) FantasyScore owners. After a slow start with his new team he has posted 70 or more rushing yards in four of the past five games. He is decent mid-level FantasyScore option as an RB2 or flex play.

Colts | Frank Gore has tough 92 yards

Mon, 02 Nov 2015 22:36:30 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 22 times for 70 yards in the Week 8 game against the Carolina Panthers Monday, Nov. 2, and he added three receptions for 22 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) did about as well as expected in sloppy weather conditions and facing a tough defense. FantasyScore players will want to avoid him again in Week 9 against a tough Denver Broncos defense.

Colts | Frank Gore remains on snap limit

Sat, 24 Oct 2015 09:34:27 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore will continue to see a limited amount of snaps per game this season because the team entered the season with a certain amount of carries they wanted Gore to receive.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has received at least 20 carries in only one game this season but has rushed for at least 78 yards in three of his last four games. He will have a favorable matchup against the New Orleans Saints this week and could be a solid starting option for owners.

Colts | Frank Gore has solid matchup

Fri, 23 Oct 2015 21:12:37 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore faces the New Orleans Saints in Week 7, and the Saints have allowed the second-most rushing yards and third-most rushing touchdowns this season.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has strung together three solid games in a row, and he should keep the momentum going in Week 7. Take advantage of his mid-level price at FantasyScore to spend up at other positions.

Colts | Frank Gore carries the load

Thu, 08 Oct 2015 21:00:03 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore had a season high in carries and yards in a 27-20 win over the Houston Texans in Week 5, finishing with 22 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: After a rough start, Gore ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has now topped 80 yards from scrimmage in three straight games and has three touchdowns during the same stretch. Consider him a potential starter at FantasyScore against friendly matchups moving forward.

Colts | Frank Gore probable Thursday

Wed, 07 Oct 2015 11:40:36 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (foot) is probable for Week 5 against the Houston Texans Thursday, Oct. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) is a victim of poor offensive line play, and he's too risky to trust on FantasyScore.

Colts | Frank Gore returns to practice field

Tue, 06 Oct 2015 15:46:01 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (foot) practiced in full Tuesday, Oct. 6, after sitting out Monday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Gore's ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) foot injury doesn't look serious, so he should be able to suit up Thursday night against the Houston Texans. This is a good matchup for Gore, going up against a team that allows 28.2 PPR points per game to running backs.

Colts | Frank Gore held out Monday

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 16:58:33 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (foot) did not take part in practice Monday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Gore lands on the injury report after Week 4 on a short week, so he's certainly worth watching as Thursday night approaches. He's had at least 14 carries in each of the last three games and added five catches Sunday, but hasn't done much outside of a two-touchdown performance in Week 3. However, if Gore is healthy enough to play this week against the Texans, he could be useful as an under-the-radar sleeper pick with Houston allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game in PPR leagues to running backs (28.2).

Colts | Frank Gore shakes off rust

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 20:27:32 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore had 14 carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns and one catch for eight yards in a 35-33 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) had just 88 yards combined in the first two games while averaging less than four yards per carry in each. He looked more like himself Sunday, and he could make a strong RB2 at FantasyScore in Week 4 when the Colts face the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Colts | Frank Gore fumbles away points

Mon, 21 Sep 2015 21:44:07 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore carried 15 times for 57 yards in the Week 2 loss against the New York Jets Monday, Sept. 21, and he added a catch for four yards.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) was on his way to a touchdown inside the red zone, but he fumbled inside the 5-yard line, angering FantasyScore players everywhere. He'll look to rebound in Week 3 on the road against the Tennessee Titans.

Colts | Frank Gore bothered by cramps

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 12:11:25 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (calf) has been sidelined during Week 1's game against the Buffalo Bills due to cramps in his calf. His return to the game is questionable.

Fantasy Tip: If Gore ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) is unable to return to the game, expect Josh Robinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) to receive the bulk of the carries for Indianapolis. Check back for further updates on Gore's status.

Colts | Three Indy RBs will be available

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 14:07:32 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RBs Frank Gore, Josh Robinson and Tyler Varga are expected to be the only three running backs available for Week 1, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. RB Vick Ballard (hamstring) is still dealing with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: Gore and Robinson hold the most value in the Colts' backfield. Gore ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) will be on a pitch count for the beginning of the season, but he's still one of their most valuable weapons on offense. However, the fact that he could see fewer touches and the fact that the Buffalo Bills have a stout defense makes Gore a somewhat risky play on FantasyScore.

Colts | Frank Gore will be limited

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 11:50:53 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore will be on a pitch count early in the season to keep him fresh for a playoff run, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) isn't a good play on FantasyScore early on, but Josh Robinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should receive more luster at his basement price.

Colts | Josh Robinson the No. 2 RB

Mon, 07 Sep 2015 05:24:29 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Josh Robinson will likely serve as the No. 2 running back behind RB Frank Gore. RB Vick Ballard (hamstring) re-injured his hamstring in the final preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) isn't a real good play on FantasyScore in Week 1. He's more of a handcuff for Gore owners in traditional formats.

Colts | Frank Gore praises Andrew Luck

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 18:28:19 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore called QB Andrew Luck a "football god" that runs meetings like a coach. "He sees everything. He sees the big picture of everything. He lets me know when [there's] something I don't see. He's just different. How he's in the huddle, off the field, in the meetings, he runs it. He runs the show, even in the off-season, he ran it."

Fantasy Tip: Luck should be one of the first quarterbacks selected in drafts, and Gore should produce RB2 numbers with defenses focused on shutting down Indianapolis' passing attack.

Colts | Chuck Pagano praises Frank Gore

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 19:34:16 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore was praised by head coach Chuck Pagano for his all-around ability. "He knows his stuff," Pagano said. "He's great with the ball in his hands. He's great without the ball in his hands. Great receiver out of the backfield. He does a lot of things really, really well."

Fantasy Tip: Age isn't on his side, but Gore has landed in a great situation in Indianapolis. He averaged 4.3 yards per carry last year despite defenses loading up to stop him, and he should have no trouble producing RB2 numbers with defenses focused on slowing down Andrew Luck and the passing attack.

Colts | Frank Gore should see more running room

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 20:04:17 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore faced eight-plus defenders in the box more than any other running back in his final season with the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Despite consistently facing defenses designed to shut him down, Gore finished with 255 carries for 1,106 yards and averaged 4.3 yards per carry. Now that Andrew Luck is his quarterback, Gore should have a lot more running room in 2015. He should make a solid RB2.

Colts | Frank Gore appears to be fresh

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 21:20:15 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore was in attendance for nearly all of the team's voluntary workouts, and he displayed a dedication that is not necessarily expected of such an established player. He appears fresh and is as motivated as ever.

Fantasy Tip: Gore appears to have plenty left in the tank, and that’s good news for the Colts who have just Boom Herron, Josh Robinson and Vick Ballard behind him, not exactly a who’s who of tailbacks.

Colts | Frank Gore misses practice

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 19:18:36 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore was not in attendance at the team's voluntary organized team activities Wednesday, June 3, according to Colts head coach Chuck Pagano. No reason was given for Gore's absence, but Pagano stressed the practices are voluntary and that Gore is not injured.

Fantasy Tip: Gore likely is taking time away as a veteran often does during OTAs. Count on him as a low-end RB2 or ideal flex back in most fantasy formats in 2015.

Colts | Frank Gore transitioning smoothly

Thu, 21 May 2015 05:37:47 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore was made a "pretty seamless" transition to the Colts' offense and is displaying strong knowledge of the playbook, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Fantasy Tip: At 32, Gore's best years are likely in the rear-view mirror. However, a slight resurgence with his attachment to a strong offense isn't out of the question, especially in the touchdown department. Additionally, FantasyScore players and PPR owners will be interested to find out how Gore is planned to be utilized in the passing game, so check back for updates on that front. He has snatched just 27 passes over the past two seasons, after all. He should be drafted as a low-end No. 2 running back in traditional formats, and unless you're expecting a huge spike in receptions, Gore is best suited as a No. 3 back in PPR leagues.

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 16:11:24 -0700

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore's three-year deal is worth $12 million, with $6.5 million guaranteed. He'll have salaries of $1 million in 2015, $1 million in 2016 and $3.5 million in 2017, and he'll have roster bonuses of $3.5 million in 2015 and $3 million in 2016.

Colts | Frank Gore agrees with Colts

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 15:13:55 -0700

Free-agent RB Frank Gore (49ers) officially agreed to terms on a deal Tuesday, March 10, that will guarantee him $8.5 million.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is entering his age-32 season, but he has still managed 1,000-yard rushing seasons in eight of the last nine years with the San Francisco 49ers. Gore is expected to share touches behind Andrew Luck with Daniel Herron and possibly Ahmad Bradshaw if he's re-signed. Gore's days as an RB1 are long in the rearview, but he can be valuable as running back depth, especially if he's used often in the red zone by what should be an explosive Colts offense yet again.

Colts | Frank Gore planning to join Colts

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 09:25:43 -0700

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore is planning to sign with the Indianapolis Colts, according to a source. His deal is expected to be for three years and $12 million, with $7.5 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: Gore switched course last minute and spurned the Philadelphia Eagles for the Colts and Andrew Luck. Trent Richardson is out of the picture in Indy's backfield, and Gore will likely split time with Daniel "boom" Herron behind Luck in 2015. Gore has reached 1,000 yards rushing in eight of the last nine seasons, and he can still be productive at his advanced age. However, because he's likely sharing touches, he shouldn't be considered anything more than a low-end RB2 or safer RB3.

Colts | Frank Gore to visit Colts

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 09:12:02 -0700

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore is traveling to visit with the Indianapolis Colts Tuesday, March 10, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Gore spurned the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday and looks primed to sign with the Colts now. It'll be a much better situation for him behind one of the game's best young quarterbacks. Gore will likely split the workload in the backfield, though, and he profiles best as an RB3 in fantasy drafts this year.

Eagles | Frank Gore spurns Eagles

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 06:17:29 -0700

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore has pulled out of a potential deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Gore told friends Sunday, March 8, he planned to sign with the Eagles, but he changed his mind and could land with the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Gore didn't seem best served in Philly's offense schematically for fantasy purposes. Wherever he lands, he's a very low-end RB2 or a decent RB3.

Colts | Indy may still be in mix for Frank Gore

Mon, 09 Mar 2015 16:01:09 -0700

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore could still be an option for the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Gore was believed to be signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he may look at the other options available to him. Gore probably would be the Colts' starting running back if signs with them and likely would be a No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues.

Eagles | Frank Gore unsure about joining Philly?

Mon, 09 Mar 2015 15:59:38 -0700

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore is reconsidering his decision to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Gore likely would receive a majority of the carries if he joins the Eagles, but the Eagles have other running backs on their roster that would be involved. Gore should be a starting option no matter which team he signs with and probably will be a No. 2 running back in fantasy drafts next season.

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore has told people he plans to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles this week, according to multiple league sources.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has rushed for at least 1,000 yards in each of the last four seasons and appears poised to become Philadelphia's first-string running back. He is likely to be a No. 2 fantasy running back who can be had during the middle rounds of most drafts.

Sun, 08 Mar 2015 10:59:32 -0700

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore is receiving interest from the Indianapolis Colts, and Gore is believed to have interest in the Colts, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Gore probably would take over the starting job if he decides to sign with the Colts. He has rushed for at least 1,000 yards in each of the last four seasons but did see his touchdowns drop from nine to four this past season. Gore likely would be a No. 2 running back for owners next season.

Fantasy Tip: Gore likely would be the team's starting running back if he signs with the Eagles and could be part of the passing game as well. Gore probably would be selected in the middle rounds of drafts and could be a starting option most weeks.

49ers | Frank Gore contract talks underway

Thu, 19 Feb 2015 14:09:34 -0800

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore's representation is engaged in contract negotiations with the team, 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula said at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine. Tomsula and 49ers general manager Trent Baalke agreed that re-signing their own talent was a priority.

Fantasy Tip: Gore may still have a little bit left in the tank for fantasy owners, but investing anything more than a midround selection is a risky proposition. Treat him as a modest RB3, at best, if he returns to the 49ers.

49ers | Frank Gore won't be tagged

Tue, 17 Feb 2015 10:15:40 -0800

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore could re-sign with the club, but the Niners have zero interest in using the $10 million-plus franchise tag on an aging running back.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is nearing the end of his illustrious career, and we could easily see him signing elsewhere to finish off his great career. Either way, he'll likely be used as running back depth, and the same can be said about his fantasy value.

49ers | Frank Gore still uncertain on future

Mon, 16 Feb 2015 11:51:03 -0800

San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent RB Frank Gore still isn't sure if team management wants him back for next season. "If they want to bring me back, they will," Gore said. "We'll sit down; see what they want me to do. See what my role is and if I like it, I'll sign. If I don't, I'll try to see what other teams think of me."

Fantasy Tip: Gore could very well be on his way out of San Francisco with second-year Carlos Hyde chomping at the bit for a starting role. Gore seems to be over the hill at this point in his career and had his lowest amount of rushing touchdowns (4) since 2010, though he still eclipsed 1,100 rushing yards.

49ers | Frank Gore wants to stay in SF

Wed, 24 Dec 2014 14:15:59 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore said he would like to return to the team next season. Gore is the franchise's all-time leading rusher, and he needs just 38 yards in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals to reach his fourth straight 1,000-yard season and eighth in 10 seasons. Gore said he hasn't had talks with the front office about returning next year, but general manager Trent Baalke said there is mutual interest in keeping him around.

Fantasy Tip: After a great Week 16, Gore ($5,555) faces an Arizona team that has been stout against the run all year long. That makes Gore a candidate to disappoint FantasyScore owners.

Sat, 20 Dec 2014 12:48:33 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (concussion) will play Saturday, Dec. 20, against the San Diego Chargers.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ($4,900) is still a risky play against a Chargers defense that has only allowed five rushing touchdowns to running backs all year.
