Rockies | Three Rockies regulars sitting

Wed, 04 May 2016 11:05:15 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Gerardo Parra, 2B DJ LeMahieu and C Nick Hundley are out of the lineup Wednesday, May 4. OF Ryan Raburn is hitting sixth, 2B Cristhian Adames is hitting ninth and C Tony Wolters hits seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn has an impressive .361-4-8 line in 36 at-bats. He's certainly worth the low-end flyer against Cesar Vargas. Adames is hitting .148 and isn't worth the stream in Petco Park. Wolters hasn't hit much since his first couple of games and isn't worth the start.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez out vs. lefty

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 15:25:13 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks left-handed SP Robbie Ray Friday, April 29. OF Ryan Raburn draws into the lineup in left field and is hitting fifth in the order. 1B Mark Reynolds is batting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn is a notorious lefty killer and is a sound investment in DFS action this evening. Reynolds is coming off a three-hit, one-homer performance Wednesday and gains additional daily value in the cleanup spot in a potent offense. He's also worth a sleeper selection against Ray.

Rockies | Ryan Raburn in starting lineup

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 14:36:41 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Raburn is starting in left field and batting sixth Wednesday, April 27, against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jon Niese.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn is a regular in the lineup when the Rockies face off against a southpaw, and the same will hold true when Niese toes the rubber at Coors Field for the Pirates. Raburn can be useful in these matchups, as he excels against left-handed pitching. In fact, the former Cleveland Indian hit .325 off lefties last year compared to just .136 versus right-handers. He's out to a pretty good start this season, already having three homers and six RBI in just 27 at-bats.

Rockies | Ryan Raburn draws into lineup

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 13:44:27 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Raburn is starting in left field and hitting seventh against Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed SP Scott Kazmir Friday, April 22. 1B Ben Paulsen will start on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: At home at hitter-friendly Coors Field against a soft-tossing lefty is the perfect time to roll with Raburn as a cheap flyer in daily formats. Last year against southpaws Raburn hit .325/.415/.589 with all eight of his long balls. Sneaky good value here.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen sitting out Saturday

Sat, 16 Apr 2016 10:28:10 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B/OF Ben Paulsen is out of the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta Saturday, April 16. INF Mark Reynolds is playing first base and batting fifth, while OF Ryan Raburn is playing left field and batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen is off to a decent start in 2016, batting .318 with three RBI through his first nine games, but he will give way to the free-swinging Reynolds, who is homeless through his first seven contests. Raburn is 5-for-12 with a pair of home runs but does not have a favorable matchup versus Arrieta.

Rockies | Nick Hundley remains out

Fri, 15 Apr 2016 08:19:18 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley (head) is out of the lineup again Friday, April 15, with C Tony Wolters hitting eighth. OF Ryan Raburn is hitting sixth with 1B Mark Reynolds on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Wolters is 3-for-8 (.375) on the young season with two steals, and he's not a bad low-end flyer against Kyle Hendricks. Raburn is 3-for-9 (.333) with a couple of jacks on the year, and he's a low-end option as well.

Rockies | Two Rockies take a seat

Sat, 09 Apr 2016 15:18:47 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon and OF Gerardo Parra are out of the lineup Saturday, April 9, with OF Ryan Raburn hitting sixth and OF Brandon Barnes hits eighth. 2B DJ LeMahieu bumps up to the leadoff spot against left-handed San Diego Padres SP Drew Pomeranz.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn and Barnes aren't worth the start. LeMahieu hit lefties at a .294 clip the last three years, and he's worth the upper-echelon start.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon, Gerardo Parra sitting

Wed, 06 Apr 2016 10:10:36 -0700

Colorado Rockies OFs Charlie Blackmon and Gerardo Parra are out of the lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks left-handed SP Patrick Corbin Wednesday, April 6. OF Brandon Barnes is in center and hitting eighth, while OF Ryan Raburn is in left and batting sixth. Also, 2B DJ LeMahieu moves up to the leadoff spot Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Expect Raburn, who slashed .325/.415/.589 with all eight of his homers against lefties in 2015, to start often against southpaws. Because of his dominance of that handedness, he's an effective bargain option in daily games. LeMahieu is off to a fine start and gains added value in daily games today, as well.

Rockies | Ryan Raburn inks deal with Colorado

Fri, 04 Mar 2016 13:31:50 -0800

Free-agent OF Ryan Raburn (Indians) signed a minor-league contract with the Colorado Rockies on Friday, March 4, with an invitation to spring training. Raburn can reportedly opt out of the deal on March 28 if he's not going to make the Opening Day roster but will earn $1.5 million if he does.

Fantasy Tip: The Rockies are currently loaded with left-handed bats in their outfield, so Raburn and his right-handed bat could see a lot of playing time in 2016, especially given his recent solid production against southpaws. His uncertain roster status makes him waiver-wire fodder in fantasy at the moment, but he is a player to keep an eye on should he make the team.

Giants | Ryan Raburn attracting San Francisco interest

Fri, 26 Feb 2016 23:57:55 -0800

Free-agent OF Ryan Raburn (Indians) is garnering attention from the San Francisco Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn would be a late-round selection in NL and mixed leagues, but he could be a terror against left-handed pitchers. Raburn hit .325 against lefties with eight homers and 16 doubles, so keep an eye on whether or not he signs.
