Rockies | Ryan Raburn scratched

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 17:05:55 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Raburn (illness) was scratched from the starting lineup Tuesday, June 28, because of an illness.

Fantasy Tip: Charlie Blackmon was expected to receive a day off because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher but is in the lineup with Raburn out. Blackmon should be starting in all fantasy leagues.

Rockies | Mark Reynolds back after a day off

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 12:23:34 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Mark Reynolds is in the lineup Sunday, June 26, against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin and will hit seventh. OF Ryan Raburn is in left and will bat sixth, while C Nick Hundley resumes his duties behind the plate after a rest day and will hit eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Reynolds, who drew a walk and scored a run as a pinch hitter in Saturday's victory, has hits in each of his last five starts (8-for-23) and homered three times over that stretch. However, he's a weak bet against left-handers this season (.260, no homers and six RBI in 73 at-bats). Raburn has always performed well against southpaws, but there are better options during today's full slate of games. Hundley is riding a five-game hitting streak and a serviceable option in all formats.

Rockies | Ryan Raburn out vs. Yankees

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 13:21:06 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Raburn is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 21, against the New York Yankees. 2B Daniel Descalso is serving as designated hitter and will bat sixth against Yankees SP Ivan Nova.

Fantasy Tip: Keep Raburn on your bench accordingly. As for Descalso, he does not play enough to merit fantasy value, with only an occasional at-bat here and there.

Rockies | COL makes several lineup changes

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 08:30:44 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Raburn, 1B Mark Reynolds and C Nick Hundley are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Sunday, June 19. INF Daniel Descalso will bat sixth and play first base, OF Brandon Barnes will bat seventh and play left field and C Tony Wolters will start behind the plate and hit eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso is 13-for-32 (.406) with a double, triple, home run and 11 RBI through 32 at-bats this season and is an excellent source of salary cap relief in DFS. Wolters is worth considering as an inexpensive flier behind the plate but Barnes should be avoided in all fantasy formats today.

Rockies | Ryan Raburn starting in LF

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 12:47:42 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Raburn will start in left field against Miami Marlins SP Adam Conley Friday, June 17, and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn likely will receive regular playing time with Gerardo Parra sidelined. He is hitting only .220 with three home runs and seven RBI against left-handed pitchers this season but is still a decent option in daily fantasy leagues because he has played well against lefties during his career.

Rockies | Gerardo Parra out Wednesday

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 09:34:51 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Gerardo Parra (ankle) is out of the lineup Wednesday, June 15, with OF Ryan Raburn hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn is hitting just .208 this month, and he really hasn't done much since hitting four of his six homers in April. He's a basement consideration against Ivan Nova today, though, because of his lineup and Coors Field.

Rockies | Gerardo Parra sprains ankle, set for MRI

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 22:37:10 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Gerardo Parra (ankle) was carted off the field in the third inning on Tuesday, June 14, with what manager Walt Weiss called a sprained ankle. Parra is slated to undergo an MRI on Wednesday, June 15. He was replaced by OF Ryan Raburn.

Fantasy Tip: Weiss says Parra is day-to-day, but that collision looked bad so we'll wait to see what the MRI reveals. Look for Raburn to be the regular left fielder as long as Parra is out, which could give Raburn some NL-only appeal.

Rockies | Gerardo Parra not starting

Sun, 12 Jun 2016 12:17:53 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Gerardo Parra is not in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP Christian Friedrich Sunday, June 12. OF Ryan Raburn will start in left field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn has struggled over the last several weeks but has been productive against left-handed pitchers in his career, which makes him an attractive option for some owners in daily fantasy leagues.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez out vs. lefty

Thu, 09 Jun 2016 12:17:07 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates left-handed SP Jeff Locke Thursday, June 9. OF Gerardo Parra shifts to right field and is hitting seventh, while OF Ryan Raburn is starting in left field and is batting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like a routine off day for Car-Go against the southpaw. Raburn is a notorious lefty killer and should be an excellent consideration as a value play in DFS play today. Parra, on the other hand, loses some luster today against the lefty with his move down in the order.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon, Nick Hundley out

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 15:57:54 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon and C Nick Hundley are not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Julio Urias Tuesday, June 7. OF Gerardo Parra will start in center field, while OF Ryan Raburn will start in left field and is batting second. C Dustin Garneau will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Both Raburn and Garneau have struggled at the plate over the last seven days, but Raburn has had success against left-handed pitchers and is a decent option in daily fantasy leagues. Owners can avoid Garneau in all leagues.
