Rangers | Jason Frasor traded

Wed, 16 Jul 2014 09:29:52 -0700

The Texas Rangers have traded RP Jason Frasor to the Kansas City Royals for P Spencer Patton.

Fantasy Tip: With Frasor out of the picture in Texas, Neal Cotts could be next in line for saves if the Rangers also deal Joakim Soria before the deadline. Keep Cotts' name on your watch list in the next several weeks.

Royals | Jason Frasor acquired

Wed, 16 Jul 2014 09:29:18 -0700

The Kansas City Royals have acquired RP Jason Frasor from the Texas Rangers for P Spencer Patton.

Fantasy Tip: The Royals' back end of the bullpen has been very strong this year, so Frasor will likely work in a setup capacity with little chance of seeing any save chances, unless injuries occur.

Rangers | Cory Burns standing out

Wed, 27 Feb 2013 13:42:58 -0800

Texas Rangers RP Cory Burns has begun to stand out among the team's bullpen options this spring, making three scoreless appearances. "He's doing a good job," manager Ron Washington said. "He's got deception, changes speed and can move the ball in on left-handers. He can throw his fastball on both sides of the plate." Burns throws in the high-80s with a sidearm delivery but his changeup generates swings and misses nearly 40 percent of the time. RPs Joe Nathan and Jason Frasor are the only pitchers guaranteed spots in the bullpen. RPs Tanner Scheppers (hamstring) and Wilmer Font (shoulder) are both sidelined with minor injuries, and RP Josh Lindblom hasn't fared very well so far. Burns has intrigued the Rangers ever since they acquired him from the San Diego Padres.
