Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley (shoulder) needs to play back-to-back games in rehab before he is activated, according to manager Terry Francona.
Fantasy Tip: Brantley will bear watching when he comes back because the shoulder is such a huge part of his power swing. If he can demonstrate power during his rehab games, then he will be a safer fantasy bet. He will likely be activated by many fantasy owners. You may want to hold off in weekly leagues to see how his shoulder fares, but daily owners can take a gamble. Owners of Rajai Davis may want to look for other options, because Davis will likely take a hit in play time.

Cleveland Indians 1B Carlos Santana (back) was removed from the lineup on Sunday, March 20, due to mild back soreness, according to manager Terry Francona.
Fantasy Tip: The Indians don't believe the injury to be serious, so expect Santana back soon. The 29-year-old lost his catcher eligibility in most leagues last year, so much of his fantasy luster has faded as a result. Owners can wait on him until him until the middle to late rounds.

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber is expected to get the nod on Opening Day "as long as everything goes to plan", according to manager Terry Francona.
Fantasy Tip: The 2014 American League Cy Young Award winner never really got a chance to defend his crown thanks to woeful run support. Kluber should still be considered a top-10 starting pitcher in fantasy capable of returning to his 2014 form. The 29-year-old should be one of the top strikeout artists yet again after totaling 514 over the last two seasons, including 245 last year.

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber pitched a complete game Thursday, April 24, with 11 strikeouts against the Kansas City Royals. Kluber didn't walk a batter and let Cleveland manager Terry Francona give some rest to his bullpen. Kluber is the first Cleveland pitcher with a complete game, 11 strikeouts, no walks and no earned runs since Len Barker's perfect game in 1981.

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona said OF Michael Bourn (hamstring) will join Triple-A Columbus this week to continue his rehab from a strained left hamstring. Bourn played in a minor league game Monday, March 31, in Goodyear, Ariz., and had two doubles. Look for Bourn to play in one or two games with the Clippers before joining the Tribe. "The reports say he's running well," said Francona. "When we get home, we want to talk to Bournie and see where he's at."

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco is competing with Ps Trevor Bauer, Aaron Harang and Josh Tomlin for the fifth spot in the rotation. SP Shaun Marcum (shoulder) also might join the battle when healthy. General manager Chris Antonetti said Carrasco is already on the club, whether it's in the bullpen or in the rotation, hoping that will relax the pitcher who is out of options. "He felt like he was pitching for his major league life," manager Terry Francona said of Carrasco before. "He knew there a chance he'd go to Triple-A." Carrasco has made some adjustments to his delivery to give him more deception.
Fantasy Tip: Carrasco has a live arm, and could be a boon to fantasy owners in the strikeouts department if he could win a job, pitch effectively and stay healthy. All of those things have been a problem in parts of five seasons in the majors to this point.
