Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald not rushing back

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 12:37:57 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) said he could be taking part in practice but does not want to suffer a setback this close to the start of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald is dealing with a minor injury and does not need to play in a preseason game because the Cardinals know what to expect from him. He had a terrific season in 2015 and should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues in 2016.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald sits out of practice

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 11:01:19 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) was held out of practice Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals will be cautious with their 33-year-old receiver as he works his way back from a mild medial collateral ligament sprain. Following a huge season in 2015 with 109 catches, 1215 receiving yards and nine scores, Fitzgerald presents nice value in the middle rounds of drafts, especially if you're less aggressive at the position early in drafts. Expect Fitzgerald to be ready for Week 1.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald back at practice

Sun, 21 Aug 2016 14:33:26 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) is practicing Sunday, Aug. 21 after sitting out the team's exhibition game against the San Diego Chargers on Friday, Aug. 19 with a slight MCL sprain.

Fantasy Tip: No big surprise here. Fitzgerald should be good to go for the Cardinals' dress rehearsal game against the Houston Texans next Sunday. He should be considered a low-end WR2/high-end WR3 for fantasy purposes when everybody is healthy in the Cardinals' offense.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald able to run

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 05:52:43 -0700

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) did not play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 19, because of a medial collateral ligament injury but was able to run before and after the game. The injury is not considered serious.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald could sit out some practices but should be fine for the start of the regular season. He is coming off a solid 2015 season and should be a solid part of the passing game again this season. He can be a No. 3 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald dealing with MCL sprain

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 21:35:14 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) didn't play against the San Diego Chargers Friday, Aug. 19, and head coach Bruce Arians said Fitzgerald is dealing with a "slight" sprain of the medial collateral ligament.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't sound like fantasy owners should be too concerned. Fitzgerald enjoyed a resurgence last year, and if he and Carson Palmer can stay healthy, the veteran receiver should be a high-end WR3.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald agrees to extension

Fri, 05 Aug 2016 13:22:09 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Cardinals Friday, Aug. 5. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Fitzgerald bounced back in 2015 and finished with 109 catches, 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns. Fitzgerald should receive plenty of targets this season and should be a No. 2 or No. 3 wide receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Cardinals | Carson Palmer to improve in 2016?

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 21:53:06 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald expects "better things" from QB Carson Palmer this season because of Palmer's understanding of head coach Bruce Arians' offensive system.

Fantasy Tip: Palmer carries some injury risk, but he has the weapons around him to deliver another solid season of QB1 production.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald feels great

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 09:46:20 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald seems unlikely to retire anytime soon. "Just trying to prepare for the next phase in your life, but I have a lot of good football left in me. How long I will play, I don't know. I feel great. I can still play at a high level. I just have to take it one year at a time and I got a really fantastic team I'm a part of," Fitzgerald said.

Fantasy Tip: The 32-year-old wideout has had a Hall of Fame career and rebounded in a big way working out of the slot a lot in 2016 with 109 catches for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns. It was his first 100-catch season since 2007 and only the third of his career. It'll surely be tough for him to repeat numbers like that this year, but in Arizona's high-powered offense, he can still do damage as long as Carson Palmer is healthy. Consider Fitz a decent low-end WR2 or high-end WR3.

Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald singing swan song?

Wed, 20 Apr 2016 10:17:15 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said he has not really thought about the possibility of this being his last season playing in the NFL. Fitzgerald signed a two-year deal last offseason and said he's focused on finishing that deal this season. He hinted that if the Cardinals won the Super Bowl this season, he would lean towards retirement. "A lot of it's tied to Carson (Palmer) - Carson's playing at a high level," Fitzgerald said. "I don't want to go through any other quarterback situations. It's been great to have the stability that we have now with the big fella, he's been playing lights out."

Fantasy Tip: After three down years, Fitz really rejuvenated his career last year with a 109-1,215-9 season. His 11.1 yards per catch was the lowest of his career. His inability to separate in those three down years is what plagued him, and the Cards used him differently to make up for that. He's a solid WR2, but some regression should be expected as defenses adjust.

Cardinals | Quiet night for Larry Fitzgerald

Sun, 24 Jan 2016 20:08:44 -0800

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald finished with four catches for 30 yards in a 49-15 loss to the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 24.

Fantasy Tip: His season ended on a down note, but Fitzgerald showed he still has some juice left with his performance in 2015. Arizona has plenty of young receivers waiting to shine, but Fitzgerald should still be a strong WR3 in 2016 and potentially a WR2.
