Blue Jays | Jose Bautista leaves game

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 18:07:25 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (hamstring) left the game Tuesday, July 28, against the Philadelphia Phillies due to an apparent right hamstring injury. He was running out a grounder and grabbed at the back of his leg.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) could be headed to the 15-day disabled list if it is serious, but we'll know more when he is re-evaluated. The team also lost Devon Travis earlier in the game, which is likely not what they had in mind when they bolstered their lineup by adding Troy Tulowitzki Monday.

Blue Jays | Jose Bautista homers again

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 16:14:35 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday, July 19, and he has two home runs in three games since the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) was dealing with a bit of a power outage prior to the break, but it looks like he is back on track. He can carry a lineup when he is swinging a hot bat, so it could be time to pay up for Bautista at FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Jose Bautista feeling better

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 13:42:20 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) said his shoulder is feeling better after he received treatment over the All-Star Break. Bautista would not say what kind of treatment he received.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has been playing with the injury and has posted a solid .256 average this month with two home runs and 10 RBI. Bautista does come with some risk because of the injury, but he should be a starting option most nights on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Jose Bautista will be DH

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 09:10:59 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista will serve as the designated hitter against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Sunday, July 12. OF Chris Colabello will start in right field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) is receiving a day off from the field but remains in the lineup and should be a solid starting option on FantasyScore. Colabello ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has at least one hit in six of his last eight games and has four RBI in that span. Colabello could be a solid starting since he is in the middle of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Dozier ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is hitting quite well and this news comes on the heels of his dramatic three-run homer Friday, July 10, against the Detroit Tigers. He remains a strong play in FantasyScore formats.

Blue Jays | Jose Bautista snaps skid

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 16:54:33 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI during the Jays' 11-2 win over the Boston Red Sox Wednesday, July 1.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) was hitless over his previous 29 plate appearances entering the game, so it was a nice slump-busting afternoon for the slugger. Look for him to parlay the success into a nice hot streak and continue to view him as a solid outfield option in all fantasy formats.

Blue Jays | Jose Bautista in a slump

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 09:29:19 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista is hitless in his last 29 plate appearances with four strikeouts dating back to June 23.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has seen his average drop to .236 (57-for-242) as a result, but he still has 15 home runs and 50 RBI on the season. The power is still there, but it looks like we're starting to see a decline in his skills at age 34. Until he starts to show some signs of life in his bat, you should consider avoiding him on FantasyScore.

Bautista has everything working right now, and he can anchor a lineup at FantasyScore with the way he is swinging the bat.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista is still hitting .375 (18-for-48) over the past 13 games while posting four homers and 12 RBIs. He remains a must-start in FantasyScore ($5,500; or 11.0% of cap) despite the hitless night.

Blue Jays | Jose Bautista on a power surge

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 20:37:10 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and three runs scored in a 7-6 win over the Houston Astros Sunday, June 7, and he has four home runs in his last four games.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has driven in six and scored eight runs over the same stretch, and it sure looks like he is over an earlier shoulder issue. He is worth spending up for at FantasyScore when he has his power stroke going.
