The MRI done on Oakland Athletics 1B Brandon Moss (ankle) did not show any structural damage in his injured ankle.
Fantasy Tip: It is not known how long Moss will be out of the lineup but this is certainly good news for him. Nate Freiman started at first base Sunday and could be an AL-only option if he continues to get starts at the positions. Alberto Callaspo and Daric Barton could also be options but probably would not have a lot of value in leagues other than AL-only.

Oakland Athletics manager Bob Melvin was hitting INF Alberto Callaspo balls at first base and Melvin said Callaspo is getting better at the position. Callaspo just needs to learn a few of the intricacies of the position, like bunt plays and cutoffs, but he is reportedly improving.

Oakland Athletics 2B Alberto Callaspo will serve as the team's first baseman when the team is facing a left-handed pitcher this year, according to manager Bob Melvin. 1Bs Brandon Moss and Daric Barton will share the position against righties, although Moss will likely see most of his at-bats as the designated hitter. Barton is considered to be the better defender. Callaspo has never played first base before this spring, and he'll also continue to serve as a backup at second and third base.
Fantasy Tip: Callaspo isn't a bad option as a middle infielder in AL-only leagues because of his positional versatility.
