The Tennessee Titans are not eliminating the fullback from their offense, according to head coach Ken Whisenhunt. "We will have a spot for a traditional fullback, maybe 15 to 20 snaps a game,'' Whisenhunt said. "If we get into a situation where we have the lead and we go into a four-minute offense, it will be an integral part of it. Now there may be some games where we don't have a lot of (fullback) snaps, so it will depend."

I do like Jake … and I think Ken is going to be very good for Jake. Jake is a competitor. He is a smart guy. I think he has the ability. He is the quarterback. That's what I have told him every time I see him. And that's the way it is."

Tennessee Titans president Tommy Smith said the team will be active in free agency in 2014, with general manager Ruston Webster and head coach Ken Whisenhunt trying to find team needs. "I've said before, we're going to be active (in free agency)," Smith said. "We were active last year and where Ruston and Ken see the need and find the talent, we're going to go after it. So within our confines within the salary cap and so forth, we're going to be active."

Tennessee Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt had reservations about the Cleveland Browns' management team in their pursuit of him for their head coach opening - specifically Joe Banner. The Browns interviewed Whisenhunt in 2013 as well, and Banner reportedly told him that they wanted more of a "championship coaching staff." Whisenhunt was miffed that Banner, who had never coached, criticized his choice of assistants.

Tennessee Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt continued putting together his staff Monday, Jan. 20, by announcing the hiring of defensive coordinator Ray Horton and defensive backs coach Louie Cioffi, who each filled the same roles this season in Cleveland. The Browns fired head coach Rob Chudzinski after the season. During the 2011 and 2012 seasons, Horton was defensive coordinator and Cioffi was defensive backs coach in Arizona while Whisenhunt was the Cardinals' head coach.
