Steelers | QB coach talks Ben Roethlisberger

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 05:14:08 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger could stand to spend more time watching film between games, according to quarterbacks coach Randy Fichtner. "Ben can always get better during the week putting the time in with film work and really getting a feel for what's going to happen to him."

Fantasy Tip: Sure, perhaps a little more film work would help, but Roethlisberger is coming off the best fantasy season of his career and will engineer one of the most prolific offenses in the league. He'll be fine. With elite talents -- Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown -- in tow, and Martavis Bryant emerging as a capable deep threat and end-zone target, Roethlisberger projects to have another excellent season in 2015. He should be viewed as a second-tier No. 1 quarterback, and he is worth targeting in the middle rounds of drafts.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger to play Friday

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 09:12:03 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is expected to receive 10 to 12 snaps during the second preseason game Friday, Aug. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger probably does not need much preseason playing time to prepare for the regular season. He is coming off an outstanding 2014 season and has most of his weapons back this season. Roethlisberger should be a starting option in most leagues.

Steelers | PIT regulars sitting out this weekend

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 11:42:29 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, RB Le'Veon Bell, WR Antonio Brown, TE Heath Miller, C Maurkice Pouncey and LB James Harrison will all sit out for the team's Hall of Fame Game against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. The Steelers will be extra cautious with an extra preseason game on their schedule this year. Backup QB Landry Jones will receive significant snaps in the game.

Fantasy Tip: A lot of team's regulars will be rested in preseason games, and that's even more so the case early on in the preseason. There's nothing to see here for fantasy owners.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Landry Jones had another excellent practice Monday, Aug. 3, and it looks like he'll start against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Aug. 9, with QB Ben Roethlisberger sitting out. Jones hasn't dressed for a game since he was drafted by the Steelers in 2013. QB Bruce Gradkowski (arm) continues to sit out with "arm fatigue."

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger feels good

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 08:57:11 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said he is in great shape and that his arm feels great. He believes the offense can be even better than it was in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger posted some of the best numbers of his career last season with 4,952 passing yards and 32 touchdowns over 16 regular season games. Roethlisberger will have all of his offensive weapons back and could be a No. 1 quarterback in many fantasy leagues.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger embracing leadership

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 17:56:07 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is embracing a leadership role this offseason. "It's fun because I can tell the guys what I want on the field and they are going to listen because we all want to be the best we can be and help each other win," Roethlisberger said. "I am just happy to have the coach's blessing to be able to do that and not stepping on anybody's toes." At 33 years old, Roethlisberger is the second-oldest player on the Steelers' roster, behind only LB James Harrison.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger was criticized last year by former teammate Emmanuel Sanders for his lack of leadership, and he seems to have taken it to heart. With elite weapons in Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell, Roethlisberger is a fringe top-10 quarterback heading into 2015 drafts.

Steelers | Big Ben loves supporting cast

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 21:14:38 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is excited about the team's offense heading into the 2015 season, which he feels might be the best supporting cast of his career. "I hate to yes or no, because I don't want to offend anybody else that's been here," Roethlisberger said Wednesday, June 10. "But you look at stats from the NFL, we had the No. 1 wide receiver and the No. 1 overall back. Kind of hard to argue with those numbers."

Fantasy Tip: Big Ben could be in line for a huge fantasy season with Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton at receiver and Le’Veon Bell in the backfield.

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 10:39:12 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger did not participate in organized team activities Thursday, June 4, because he received a day off.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger is coming off an outstanding season in 2014 and still have most of his offensive weapons to work with this season. Roethlisberger could be a starting option for owners in deeper leagues or a solid No. 2 quarterback in standard leagues.
