Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger may get new deal |
Mon, 26 Mar 2018 09:36:29 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is a candidate for a contract extension this offseason even though he still has two years left on his current contract, according to general manager Kevin Colbert.
Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger had a very productive 2017 season and will have most of his pass catchers back next season. He can be a solid No. 1 fantasy quarterback in most fantasy leagues in 2018.

Steelers | Glaring splits for Ben Roethlisberger |
Wed, 21 Feb 2018 13:23:57 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's touchdown to interception ratio on passes of at least 20 yards in home games last season was 8:1. The ratio for such passes in road contests plummeted to 1:3. His passer rating on such passes at home was 117.1 compared to 47.6 on the road.
Fantasy Tip: There is credence to home-field advantage and the impact it has on the human psyche, and vice versa in hostile environments on the road. Game scripts obviously play a big role in the frequency and length of passes, too. Roethlisberger is a borderline No. 1 fantasy quarterback, but keep in mind that Big Ben, and players in general, may have a harder time finding success on the road.

Steelers | Extension for Ben Roethlisberger? |
Wed, 07 Feb 2018 12:28:15 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's current contract could be extended at some point, according to owner Art Rooney. Roethlisberger, who is 35 years old, has already expressed his desire to play three more years in the NFL. Rooney did add that the sides have not had a long conversation about a potential extension yet, however.
Fantasy Tip: Big Ben had his peaks and valleys in 2017, but he reached over 4,000 yards for the first time since 2014 and has now averaged 28.5 touchdowns over the last two seasons. With Antonio Brown, up-and-coming JuJu Smith-Schuster and (possibly) Le'Veon Bell, Roethlisberger has an elite supporting cast that enables him to achieve QB1 status.
