Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger not expected for Thursday

Mon, 13 Aug 2018 20:20:23 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (rest) is not expected to play in the team's second preseason game Thursday, Aug. 16, against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: This is just standard procedure for the 15-year veteran, who has sat out the second preseason game in each of the last several years. He's perfectly healthy at the moment and remains a higher-end QB1 entering the new campaign, leading one of football's most potent offenses.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger 'noticeably leaner'

Thu, 26 Jul 2018 16:32:55 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger reported to camp Thursday, July 26, looking "noticeably leaner." He made a concerted effort during the offseason to cut down on carbohydrates and sugar, as he worked with a nutritionist. Roethlisberger wouldn't reveal his weight when asked, however.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger finished with his lowest passer rating (93.4) since 2013, but remains a steady QB1 entering 2018, nonetheless. He plays for one of the league's most explosive offenses, and with virtually the same big-name supporting cast around him, Big Ben should manufacture yet another productive campaign.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger feeling his age

Wed, 04 Jul 2018 17:13:12 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said he is walking a "fine line" between resting his body and working out to prepare for the upcoming season. "My trainer will get me as prepared as I can be," Roethlisberger said. "But it is a fine line of what you can do at this age."

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger is still delivering despite his age, and last year, he reached 28 touchdown passes for the fourth time in the last five seasons. With plenty of weapons around him, another season of QB1 production should be on tap.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger won't pursue extension

Sun, 17 Jun 2018 17:07:24 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger won't pursue an extension on his contract, which expires in two years, over the summer months. Roethlisberger said he prefers to just play football and let his representation worry about the money.

Fantasy Tip: With no distractions over money, Roethlisberger should be a decent mid-round selection in most fantasy drafts, either as a low QB1 or high QB2. The question is can he stay healthy.
