Red Sox | No Hanley Ramirez vs. Mets

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 07:19:45 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 30. OF Alejandro De Aza is playing left field and batting eighth against New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has been out since Wednesday, Aug. 26, as he seems to be battling a continuous string of injuries. Seasonal owners will want to remain patient. The injury isn't expected to be serious. Typically, De Aza ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is a worthy FantasyScore flier, but Snydergaard ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) owns a sub-2.00 ERA at Citi Field, so you should be able to find better value in daily contests Sunday.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez out with shoulder fatigue

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 14:47:25 -0700

Updating a previous report, Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez (shoulder) is dealing with right shoulder fatigue and is considered day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is a notoriously slow healer, so don't be shocked if he misses some time. Jackie Bradley Jr. ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) and Rusney Castillo ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) should both see full-time duty for the duration of Ramirez's absence. Continue to check back for updates and double-check the Boston lineup before locking your own rosters this weekend.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez scratched

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 13:45:31 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez (undisclosed) is a late scratch from the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 28. OF Jackie Bradley Jr. is replacing him in left field against New York Mets SP Matt Harvey Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) can't stay healthy, and it has seriously capped his seasonal value. FantasyScore players will want to make sure to avoid him Friday. Bradley ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) draws a tough matchup against Harvey ($9,400, 18.8% of cap), so you're likely best to look elsewhere in daily contests. Check back for updates on Ramirez's status.

Red Sox | No David Ortiz vs. White Sox

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 15:02:34 -0700

Boston Red Sox 1B David Ortiz is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26. OF Hanley Ramirez is batting fourth as the designated hitter against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale, which allowed OFs Jackie Bradley Jr. and Rusney Castillo to draw into the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: While Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) has had a few peaks and valleys of late, he presents a brutally tough matchup, and starting Boston hitters at FantasyScore is incredibly risky. Unless you're after a contrarian stack, you're likely better off avoiding them entirely.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez confirms move to 1B

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 18:10:56 -0700

Updating a previous report, Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez confirmed Tuesday, Aug. 25, that he is moving to first base by next season, and he is also on board with management's decision. "I'm looking forward to it," Ramirez said.

Fantasy Tip: The move will allow Rusney Castillo ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) and Jackie Bradley Jr. ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) to play outfield full-time in 2015. It's uncertain what this means for the future of 1B Travis Shaw, a big-time prospect waiting in the wings.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez to play 1B?

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 13:37:29 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez is taking ground balls at first base Tuesday, Aug. 25, and he could move to the position to allow OFs Jackie Bradley Jr. and Rusney Castillo to play full time.

Fantasy Tip: A move to first base for Han-Ram ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) would cause Travis Shaw ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) to lose significant playing time and fantasy value in deep mixed leagues. Both Castillo and Bradley are on the rise in fantasy leagues, and their value would receive a further boost if they both become everyday players. Stay tuned.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez not playing Sunday

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 09:43:41 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Sunday, Aug. 23. OF Rusney Castillo will start in right field and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) should be back in the lineup in the next game or two. Castillo ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games with nine RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore should consider Castillo while he is on his hot streak.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez to be moved from LF?

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 11:01:44 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez has struggled defensively in left field this year, and new president Dave Dombrowski doesn't sound committed to leaving him at that position.

Fantasy Tip: Boston doesn't really have many other openings for Ramirez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) on the diamond, so it remains to be seen if he'll leave left field. Ramirez has battled nagging injuries and has been somewhat of a disappointment for his owners this year. He's hitting .219 (7-for-32) with no homers and four RBI in August.

Red Sox | Hanley Ramirez sitting Wednesday

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 14:59:49 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Hanley Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19. OF Alejandro De Aza is starting in left field and hitting leadoff against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber has been lights out, so starting anyone from Boston's lineup tonight carries an element of risk. De Aza ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is in a prime lineup position to return value, but it's a big risk on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Right field platoon ahead for Boston

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 13:16:32 -0700

Boston Red Sox OFs Jackie Bradley Jr. and Rusney Castillo will rotate in and out of the lineup as the starting right fielder with OFs Hanley Ramirez and Mookie Betts starting the majority of time in left and center field, respectively, according to interim manager Torey Lovullo.

Fantasy Tip: The timeshare is working under the assumption all four outfielders remain healthy, which has rarely been the case this season. Obviously, Bradley ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) and Castillo ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) are the losers with a timeshare, but all four outfielders hold seasonal value in the majority of leagues. Monitor the situation for who to play at FantasyScore.
