Fantasy Tip: Ogbonnaya probably will not start for the team but could receive some carries in Week 5. Owners in deeper leagues could consider adding him since the Panthers are thin at running back, and Ogbonnaya could get playing time. Owners on FantasyScore probably should avoid using him this week even though he will have a low cost.

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton is getting healthy enough for the team to expand their offense, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Newton has only rushed for 33 yards on eight carries in the last three games but accounted for 31.1 percent of the team's rushing yards in the past three seasons.
Fantasy Tip: Newton has been slowed by injured ribs and an offseason ankle surgery so far this season but could have more of an impact if he regains his ability to run. Owners may want to wait on using Newton until they see how he performs in the expanded offense.

The Carolina Panthers will take a look at the running backs available in free agency because of the injuries they have at the position, according to head coach Ron Rivera. The team also hopes RB Fozzy Whittaker (thigh) will be ready to play in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Reaves was added to the active roster a few weeks ago and appears to be the next running back up because of the injuries. His price on FantasyScore probably will be low this week, which could make him a sleeper candidate for owners.

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) is doubtful to play in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Williams is still sore, but he doesn't have any structural damage.
Fantasy Tip: As if the Panthers needed another injury to their backfield. Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert are also both out. That'll likely leave them with Darrin Reaves as the main ball carrier in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Darrin Reaves would figure to get the bulk of the work. He's worth a flier in case you catch lightning in a bottle, but he's probably not worth a start unless desperate next week.

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle in the Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to a league source. Williams will be evaluated further Monday, Sept. 29.
Fantasy Tip: Backs are dropping like flies in Charlotte. Darrin Reaves and Tauren Poole might emerge as fantasy targets if Williams joins Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert on the shelf.

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was able to play in the Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens, and he finished with five receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. He was targeted a team-high nine times.
Fantasy Tip: Benjamin has found the end zone in three of his first four NFL games, emerging as a solid WR2 or flex fantasy receiver in most formats.
