Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said there is "no way" he is missing the birth of his first child, and he would miss a regular season game if it comes to that. His first child is due in about a month.
Fantasy Tip: That's a perfectly understandable reason to sit out a game, and at least he's giving his owners fair warning a month in advance. That projects to about Week 3, so owners who still have to draft should take that into account, as well as Cincinnati's bye week in Week 9. Nonetheless, Green is still a valid WR1 option and should continue to be treated as such.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon LaFell (hand) has yet to play in a preseason game due to a hand injury. He and rookie WR Tyler Boyd are considered the top two candidates to start opposite WR A.J. Green. LaFell is likely to play in the preseason game Sunday, Aug. 28, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fantasy Tip: LaFell is a veteran receiver who is worth using as a WR4 or flex fantasy play even if he is able to win the starting job opposite Grene. He posted 37 catches for 515 yards with no touchdowns last season in New England, so he isn't spectacular even in a prominent role.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) said he'll try to jog for the first time Monday, Aug. 22. Eifert said he has been running on a treadmill in the pool, and his ankle feels good. He has been lifting and receiving multiple treatments per day without setbacks.
Fantasy Tip: Eifert is one of the top tight ends in fantasy despite his potential to miss a game or two. He could come at a discount in drafts because of the injury.

Fantasy Tip: The hand injury isn't as serious as originally thought, but he could be good to go for the regular season opener. Tyler Boyd has looked impressive, though, and could compete with LaFell for the No. 2 wide receiver position.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd is turning heads this preseason and has begun to separate himself from the pack behind WR A.J. Green. Boyd had two catches for 38 yards and a touchdown in the second preseason game. "(He) does an awesome job of being in the right place, knowing what to do and how to do it and you can't say enough good things about T.B.," QB A.J. McCarron said. "If I have anything to say he's always all ears and doesn't question it. He's awesome, can't say enough good things about him."
Fantasy Tip: Boyd has a good chance to make his presence felt in fantasy with Brandon LaFell's status iffy with a torn ligament in his hand. That could force Boyd into the second spot on the depth chart. Boyd is one of the tricks to have up your sleeve later in drafts in the WR4 territory.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries and offseason departures have Boyd primed for a big role in Cincinnati's offense. Grab him as a midrange WR4.

Fantasy Tip: Tyler Boyd won't be taking over that No. 2 receiver position just yet. LaFell's status should be monitored leading up to the regular season, but he could actually be somewhat of a value in drafts now if other owners are scared away. Still, don't view him as more than a WR5. He's unproven and in a new offense.

Fantasy Tip: His fantasy stock is likely to take a sizeable hit if he's forced to have surgery. Stay tuned for updates on the midrange fantasy receiver.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (hand) injured his hand in the first quarter of a preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Friday, Aug. 12. He stayed on the sidelines but didn't return to the game.
Fantasy Tip: The injury doesn't sound serious, and he should be a low-end RB2 in standard leagues. His backfield mate, Giovani Bernard, has more appeal in PPR formats.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd has been performing very well during training camp and has exceeded head coach Marvin Lewis' expectations. "He's really entered training camp and come back and worked and done the things we expected him to do and be able to do. He's taken it and he's grasped it and ran with it," Lewis said. Boyd likely will be the No. 3 receiver this season because of his ability to play on the outside and in the slot.
Fantasy Tip: Boyd could have a solid role in the passing game as a rookie, so owners should keep an eye on him during the preseason. He should be considered a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in most fantasy leagues and could have more value if he is a starter.
