Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo said he learned a lot when he was a backup quarterback and he is willing to help another quarterback learn if the Cowboys sign a free-agent quarterback or take a quarterback in the draft.
Fantasy Tip: There will always be a sense of competition at the professional level, but Romo already knows he'll start as long as he's healthy enough to do so. The backup quarterback may carry a little more importance for the Cowboys than with other teams considering Romo's injury history. At full health, though, Romo is a QB1.

Fantasy Tip: Witten managed to catch 77 passes for 713 yards in 2015 despite playing just four games with Tony Romo. He may not be an elite fantasy option at his position anymore, but he is still a TE1, especially in PPR formats.

Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott said he'd love to play for the Dallas Cowboys. "The Dallas Cowboys (are my pick). I want to go play behind that great offensive line they have down in Dallas," Elliott said. He ran for more than 1,800 yards in each of his last two seasons in college, and Elliott is pegged to be the top prospect available at his position in the draft this year.
Fantasy Tip: As one of the top options at his position this year, Elliott could easily be a first-round selection. If he went to Dallas and played behind that offensive line, he could be in for a very productive rookie campaign, even if he shares work with Darren McFadden. Elliott would be worth a late-round grab in fantasy leagues with the Cowboys.

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray may not return to the Philadelphia Eagles next season, and Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has already started recruiting Murray back to Dallas. The Cowboys are one of the teams included among those who might be interested in signing Murray.
Fantasy Tip: There's still a lot to play out for Murray and the Eagles before next season. The Cowboys, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks are three teams that were interested in him last year. A reunion with Dallas might make sense, but Darren McFadden is coming off a surprisingly productive season. Don't look too much into Murray's fantasy value until there's a clearer picture of his status in Philadelphia.

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (clavicle) will undergo another CT scan at the end of February or in early March, at which point the best way to proceed will be reassessed. There will be two options for Romo. A plate could be attached over the collarbone to limit the potential for further injury. If the CT scan shows good enough bone growth, though, then a portion of the clavicle could be shaved off or removed. The second method would place less long-term stress on the collarbone. Romo is still expected to undergo surgery at a later time.
Fantasy Tip: Romo should still be ready to play next season, but his slew of injuries may be taking a toll on his body and could make him even more fragile going forward. At full health, Romo is a QB1 candidate, but making it through a full season could be a challenge.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (clavicle) will be re-evaluated in four weeks before making a final decision on surgery to his left collarbone, according to sources. Romo had a CT scan a week ago on the collarbone, which showed good bone growth.
Fantasy Tip: Romo will be among the midrange QBs in next year's drafts, but his durability is a major concern. He'll be a boom-or-bust selection.

Fantasy Tip: Tony Romo and Dez Bryant should be back and healthy. Running back may be somewhat of a gray cloud to some, but Darren McFadden is coming off a pleasantly surprising season, so that cloud may be a little whiter than people think. No major changes can definitely be a good thing, especially if the Cowboys' current group of players stays healthy.

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel is unlikely to sign with the Dallas Cowboys if he is released by the Browns, according to ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer. Archer said the Cowboys need a reliable backup quarterback, and that it's hard to imagine Dallas signing Manziel for such a need.
Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys have been the team most heavily rumored to possibly sign Manziel if/when the Browns let him go. Manziel's off-field problems could be a big hindrance in him signing with another team. Again, as of now, he has not fantasy value.

Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys actually met with all four of the quarterbacks on the South team roster, but Prescott bears watching. The team needs a valuable backup QB, not to mention one who will eventually replace Tony Romo at the spot.

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said he doesn't expect any major changes in the offensive philosophy in 2016, and he added that he expects QB Tony Romo back and ready to go for the start of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Romo carries some injury risk, but when healthy, he is a reliable QB1. Just make sure to have a quality backup plan in place.

North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz met with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after Senior Bowl practice Wednesday, Jan. 27. The Cowboys have the fourth overall draft pick this year, and there is speculation that Dallas could move up to No. 1 overall to take a quarterback.
Fantasy Tip: Wentz is quickly rising up draft boards after impressing in Senior Bowl practices this week. It seems likely now he'll be a first-round pick, but where he lands will determine his fantasy value in his rookie season. With Dallas he'd serve as Tony Romo's backup and wouldn't be worthy of a fantasy selection, aside from dynasty setups.
