Fantasy Tip: Bell led the team's running backs with 16 touches, while Reggie Bush had eight touches, FB Jed Collins had two (and a touchdown catch) and Theo Riddick had one. It appears the team is trying to limit the wear and tear on Bush's body, and Bell is the biggest beneficiary of that caution.

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (knee) was able to play in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers, but he had just six runs for 26 yards and two receptions for six yards. It appears the team is trying to spread the reps among its backs and trying to limit the wear and tear on Bush's body at the same time.
Fantasy Tip: Bush isn't off to a very good start, and he is well overpriced in FantasyScore based upon his production. Avoid using him until his salary lowers significantly, or his production increases.

Detroit Lions CB Nevin Lawson (foot) was carted off in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers after suffering a dislocated ankle. "He dislocated his foot, so he is actually in surgery as we speak," head coach Jim Caldwell said Sunday, Sept. 14. "We are praying for the young man, but he is in good hands right now. They are operating on him and we'll see what the prognosis is after."

Detroit Lions PK Nate Freese misfired on a pair of field goal attempts in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers. He was able to tack on one extra point. Head coach Jim Caldwell said Sunday, Sept. 14, that he "won't make any rash decisions" on whether to keep Freese as the kicker after the misses.
Fantasy Tip: Pardon the pun, but Freese might be skating on thin ice after the two misses. Avoid him for fantasy purposes until he starts to show some consistency.

Detroit Lions WR Jeremy Ross wants to be known for more than just returning kicks. "There's been a lot of return people, guys who don't really do well at receiver or are just known for returns," Ross said. "I don't want to just be that guy. I don't want to be a one-dimensional guy, I want to be a multidimensional guy. I want to have success at return, but then also wideout, too."

Fantasy Tip: Pettigrew only caught one pass for nine yards in Week 1 and will look to get more involved. Pettigrew costs $4,000 at FantasyScore, but owners could spend a little more money on a better tight end.

Fantasy Tip: Bush has the ability to help out in the running and passing game each week. Bush costs $6,500 at FantasyScore this week and may not be able to bring much of a profit to an owner based on his price.
