Dolphins | DeVante Parker has made adjustments

Mon, 22 May 2017 11:29:09 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker is doing the little things to prepare himself for a potential breakout season. According to sources, Parker is taking better care of his body, including eating right -- not skipping meals -- and sleeping well. He's also attacking his workouts and showing a desire to increase his knowledge of the game. Furthermore, Parker's route-running, footwork and consistency have all improved.

Fantasy Tip: The signs are pointing in the direction of success for Parker so far this offseason. Whether or not his progress will translate on the field remains to be seen. He remains the No. 2 wide receiver behind Jarvis Landry, but Parker has WR2 to WR3 upside if everything clicks for him in his third year.

Dolphins | T.J. McDonald to receive full reps

Sun, 21 May 2017 07:17:22 -0700

Although Miami Dolphins FS T.J. McDonald will miss the first eight games of the 2017 regular season due to a suspension, head coach Adam Gase said the team plans to give him full reps over the next few months. McDonald is eligible to participate in organized team activities, next month's minicamp, training camp and preseason games. He will be able to rejoin the club for Week 9's contest against the Oakland Raiders Nov. 5, and is expected to compete for a starting job upon his return.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker looking for big season

Sat, 20 May 2017 09:07:58 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker said he has been working more on his legs this offseason and expects to have a big season in 2017. Parker missed some time because of hamstring problems this past season.

Fantasy Tip: Parker was able to play 15 games in 2016 despite the hamstring injury and finished with 744 yards and four touchdowns. He will be a starting receiver for the Dolphins as long as he can stay healthy and can be a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi to see a lot of work

Thu, 11 May 2017 05:27:53 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi could see 22 to 25 carries per game this year, according to head coach Adam Gase. "He needs to feel it out a little bit," Gase said.

Fantasy Tip: Offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen also said Ajayi's receiving skills are 200 percent better. This could be a big year for Ajayi, and he rates as an RB2 in fantasy.

Dolphins | Julius Thomas will be used properly

Sat, 06 May 2017 18:31:17 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Julius Thomas is familiar with the offense, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen, and Christensen said head coach Adam Gase knows how to use Thomas "extremely well" from their time together with the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: There is no doubt that Jacksonville badly misused Thomas the last two seasons, but injuries are also a major concern with the tight end. He is worth a look as a low-end TE1, but you will want to have backup plan in place.

Dolphins | Miami expecting more from Jakeem Grant

Sat, 06 May 2017 18:04:32 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jakeem Grant played only 19 snaps on offense last season - dropping the only pass thrown to him - but offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen said the plan is to give the 172-pound kick and punt returner a bigger role, including as an outside receiver.

Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins are already well-stocked at receiver with Jarvis Landry, Kenny stills and DeVante Parker, so it would take a lot for Grant to see a huge spike in offensive production. More than likely, Miami will try to use the former undrafted free agent like the Kansas City Chiefs utilized Tyreek Hill last season, albeit in much more limited fashion. Grant can be avoided in fantasy drafts.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi much-improved as receiver

Sat, 06 May 2017 10:36:27 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi's receiving skills are "200 percent" better than they were a season ago, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen.

Fantasy Tip: Christensen was Mr. Optimistic on Saturday, although it isn't surprising Ajayi is making improvements after his breakout season in 2016, as he was a very capable receiver at Boise State. After managing 27 catches a year ago, Ajayi has a shot to become an elite fantasy running back if he can push that number past 40 in his third NFL season.

Dolphins | Julius Thomas poised for huge year?

Sat, 06 May 2017 10:24:27 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Julius Thomas can add "10, 12 touchdowns" to the Dolphins' offense in 2017, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen.

Fantasy Tip: It's a highly optimistic and, quite likely, unrealistic projection given Thomas' injury history, the fact he isn't playing with Peyton Manning anymore and Miami's focus on running the ball with Jay Ajayi. It is quite likely, however, Thomas does emerge as Ryan Tannehill's favorite red zone target, so he could have low-end TE1 upside.
