Miami Dolphins CB Jordan Lucas said Wednesday, June 22, that he worked both on the boundary and in the slot over the past month. He is battling CBs Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Tyler Patmon for the backup nickel job behind projected starter CB Bobby McCain.

Miami Dolphins WR Leonte Carroo made a favorable impressive on the coaching staff during the team's offseason program. He said Wednesday, June 22, that his first priority is losing weight. "I'm 217 now, trying to get down to 210," Carroo said. "You become faster when you shed some pounds. I don't have any bad weight on me. That's what I was at the combine. Why not be as fast and explosive as I can be?"
Fantasy Tip: Carroo was an impressive player at Rutgers, rolling up plenty of catches, yards and touches, but that was college. He will need a good training camp and preseason to work his way up to a No. 3 or 4 receiver job. As such, he is only worth a late-round flier in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams at this point.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill has a new head coach in Adam Gase, and the man in charge is trying to extract more from his signal caller. Gase's approach - besides extremely detailed teaching - also includes pushing Tannehill to his limits but also giving him more freedom than he has ever had. "I put a lot on (Tannehill's) plate. It's almost to the point where it's probably too much this fast. I want to see where the breaking point is. He's been doing a good job of responding," Gase said last week.
Fantasy Tip: Tannehill has gotten the best out of guys like Jay Cutler and Tim Tebow in previous stops, and now he wants to get Tannehill to obviously reach his potential. With weapons like Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills, Jordan Cameron and even rookie Leonte Carroo, things are looking up for Tannehill and his fantasy appeal.

Fantasy Tip: Tannehill has intriguing upside thanks to his big arm and the weapons around him, but his lack of consistency relegates him to QB2 status.

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi said he's been working on new routes, acknowledging that head coach Adam Gase's offensive system implements the running backs more in the passing game. Ajayi said he didn't have as many routes last year as he does this year.
Fantasy Tip: There's good reason to be excited for Ajayi this offseason as Miami's new starting running back. He'll still share touches, but he's worth drafting as an RB2 with more value in PPR formats under Gase.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi appears to be the leading candidate for the starting job and should be involved in the passing game in 2016. He should be considered a risky No. 2 or No. 3 running back at this point but would lose value if the team signs another running back before the start of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Drake has a good opportunity in Miami in a relatively shallow backfield. He'll be playing behind Jay Ajayi and likely Damien Williams to start the season, though. Still, Drake isn't a bad late-round flier in traditional fantasy drafts.
