Miami Dolphins QB Brandon Doughty has done a solid job in the preseason and could be hard to sneak through waivers, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero. That, plus Matt Moore's (concussion) injury, could lead to Doughty getting a spot on the 53-man roster.

Fantasy Tip: He was supposed to be out all week with the hamstring injury, but he's dressed to participate in some fashion. He has fallen behind Isaiah Pead as the team's fourth running back now, and Drake is an afterthought in fantasy for now. He could return to the RB5 mix with a good couple of weeks.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill said Monday, Aug. 22, that he is feeling more comfortable every day in the new offense, and he expects the offense will play a lot more fast as the regular season gets closer.
Fantasy Tip: Tannehill has the chance to really shine in head coach Adam Gase's system, similar to the success we saw the coach have in previous stops in Chicago and Denver. Still, the offense has looked in disarray to this point of the preseason and Tannehill should be treated as a more of a low-end QB2 in most fantasy leagues.

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi said Monday, Aug. 22, he and his teammates are preparing for the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 25, like it is a regular season game and he is looking forward to the extra time on the field.
Fantasy Tip: Ajayi and Arian Foster are battling for the No. 1 tailback job, and the third preseason game will be very important in determining who will see the majority of the reps. Ajayi should be treated as an RB3 unless Foster suffers some sort of long-term injury. With Foster's propensity for injury, Ajayi could see a bulk of the carries sooner rather than later.

Fantasy Tip: Isaiah Pead has seized the opportunity and appears to be ahead of Drake in the pecking order. Drake still has RB5 appeal, but he may just be a dynasty league pick at this point. Pead is in the RB5 mix.

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake (hamstring) may be a candidate for the short-term Injured Reserve list if the team wants to keep RBs Isaiah Pead and Damien Williams on the 53-man roster. Drake has missed most of training camp because of a hamstring injury.
Fantasy Tip: Drake was expected to have a decent role on offense when he was drafted but the addition of Arian Foster and his injury likely have affected the team's plans for him. He could still be a late-round option in deeper point-per-reception leagues if he is healthy but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Miami Dolphins RB Isaiah Pead was originally just supposed to be a camp body with a small chance of winning a roster spot, but he is doing whatever he can to force head coach Adam Gase into a tough roster decision. He led the team in yards from scrimmage (78) for the second straight preseason game. He even received first-team snaps, which might indicate he is on the right side of the roster bubble. "Every time he gets in the game, he seems to pop one," Gase said. "I've been very impressed with him. When he gets in the game, I'm thinking, 'Let's call plays for him and try to give him a chance to show his skill set'."
Fantasy Tip: Pead is still behind Jay Ajayi, Arian Foster and draft pick Kenyan Drake, and Damien Williams remains in the mix, too. If the team elects to keep five tailbacks, Pead could very well make the team, but his role will certainly dry up once the games count for real and so will his fantasy appeal.

Miami Dolphins DT Jordan Phillips entered training camp with designs on a starting job, but DT Chris Z. Jones has passed him on the depth chart. Phillips has no tackles or sacks and just one quarterback hit in 55 snaps through two preseason games.
