Updating previous reports, Minnesota Vikings FS Harrison Smith (ankle) decided to undergo clean-up surgery on his left ankle, according to a pair of league sources. Smith missed the final two games of the 2016 regular season because of a high ankle sprain. He previously said surgery wasn't necessary, and it is unclear when Smith had the procedure.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater probably won't be a factor in fantasy this season as he works his way back from a brutal injury.

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) has been able to run in a pool and take part on other non-weight bearing activities but there is still no timetable for his return, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater is facing a long recovery because of his serious injury and there are questions about his availability for 2017. Owners in all leagues should avoid him next season. Sam Bradford should continue to be the starting quarterback for the Vikings and can be a No. 2 quarterback.

Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray (ankle) underwent ankle surgery Wednesday, March 22, but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. The Vikings knew Murray would need surgery before they sign him.
Fantasy Tip: Murray likely will miss all of the offseason workouts but should be on the field for the first training camp practice. Murray should receive most of the touches in the running game next season and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB Latavius Murray's deal is for one year with two option years, and the minimum he could make is $3.4 million. The full $5.15 million that he's owed next season becomes guaranteed on the third day of the 2018 league year.
Fantasy Tip: It ends up being a low-risk deal for Minnesota, and Murray should have plenty of incentive to deliver a strong season. He should have a high floor as a volume-based RB2.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't be a surprise since the Vikings just signed Latavius Murray. Murray figures to begin offseason activities as the starter in Minnesota, but Jerick McKinnon could give him a run for his money. Even so, expect McKinnon to split time with Murray, with Murray handling the majority of snaps. Murray should be regarded as a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 behind a suspect Vikings' offensive line.

Minnesota Vikings LB Datone Jones' one-year deal includes a $1.6 million signing bonus. It also comes with a $1.5 million base salary, up to $500,000 in weekly roster bonuses and a $150,000 workout bonus. Jones can also earn up to $1.25 million based on incentives involved with sacks and playing time.

Fantasy Tip: Murray fits the offense better than Adrian Peterson, and he's a two-way threat that should help Sam Bradford in check-down situations. Murray will probably have to share some of those third-down reps with Jerick McKinnon, and Murray has been a bit brittle. However, he has upside in the offense with a heavy workload and has RB2 bang for the buck.
